Just got the last of the stuff I need for my 5 speed swap pulled from my donor car, teardown of my GTP starts tommarow.Drove it for the last time as an automatic today, the slushbox will not be missed.

I totally forgot the greedy wench also wanted washer fluid the other day.
That's right..
Washer fluid light
Tire pressure light
and fuel light
All in the same week!![]()
At least its not a GP right Bill.
took the badges off and gave it a bath
Finally washed my tinted windows for the first time. Didnt know what to use, so I just used tint solution and a squeegee. Worked well.
Then power washed under the hood of the impala, just a little dirt from the last time I did it. Then I did my mom's van for the first time. It was absolutely filthy, I didn't have any degreaser but did it anyway. Came out just fine, and it won't smell like degreaser for a week.
Oh boy what a day, mom showed up and the monte had bad hub noise. Jacked it up and bad RR hub. Picked up a mooger at AAP for 90. Thing was welded to the knuckle with corrosion but I got it off. Putting new hub on crossthread one bolt, fml. Ran that bish in with the impact and loctite even torqued to factory spec.

did a tune up on a exploder today, every spark plug had to be cranked out fully. 3 of them stopped coming out, so i had to crank them back in, then out again.
i was so waiting for one to strip out and come out with the threads on the plug lol f ing fords.
after looking up plug gap and plug type it seems lots of guy find they are gaped to 0.80 when they come out. spec is 0.52-58.
one side all 3 plugs had eaten the electrode. my gap tool dont go that big. lol i dont know the last time it sounded so good under the hood of this pos.
he should sell it fast lol
side note: no was way jared aka subwaygirl would have gotten these plugs out. i was real close to breaking out my little pipe.
Washed the bish for the first time since July. Bought a new rear manifold to downpipe gasket for it since mine is leaking. Also, took some measurements to figure out which way I am going to go about replacing my resonator since it has a small hole in it.
Bypassed my radio harness for the speakers since I'm probably going to just go aftermarket and keep the stock for if I ever sell my car. Ran new wires for the speakers so we didn't mess up anything in the harness except the stock connectors, which will be fixed soon enough.
Mine is the GMOS-4, On-Star and Amplified Systems adapter, i looked and couldn't find one that would directly fit my car, and after several failed attempts at making it work, i just bypassed it, only drawing power, amp-turn on, illumination, etc. And i'm running new wires for the speakers (just running a new wire, not messing with the stock one), especially since I'm highly considering new speakers all the way around since I spend at LEAST 5 hours a week in my car.
And since my radio doesn't use steering wheel controls or have On-Star access anymore, I no longer have a reason other than budgeting and resale (yeah right) to keep my steering wheel (because racecar) or rear view mirror (extra wide and lower for better visibility).
Put the rear manifold gasket for the downpipe on it my gp yesterday. The exhaust leak stopped leaking from there, and now its only leaking where it bolts into resonator, i grinded too much off and the gasket wont seal right i may of f'd my resonator in the process, but can find a exhaust for 50-75$ off another gp.
Changed my oil today, car went over 70k miles, its at 70,005 right now, 20k miles put on the beast in a year.
Re tinted my drivers front window. It had some creases that got worse with time. This time I took the window out to tint it, so much easier. Did 35% instead of 50%. Looks good minus a few scratches from putting it back in.
Brakes on a Dodge full size pickup, then a TB cleaning and plugs on wifes 4 runner.
I went through my own exhaust hell today. I too replaced the manifold to downpipe gasket. Did it mostly from the top (God I love ratcheting wrenches) Managed to cut my thumb on the gasket itself when I was reseating the downpipe. The new gasket fixed that leak there, but I knew the resonator was leaking anyway.
I decided to go to town and buy the stuff I needed to replace the resonator. Got me a Thrush glasspack, a flange, an adapter, and a few clamps. Went to my uncle's where we proceeded to weld the flange to the glasspack. I figured out where I was going to cut the factory catback, and then decided to cut the studs on the factory resonator since the nuts were not going to come off by normal methods. Once both studs were cut I smacked it once with a hammer and it separated, but I also noticed the flange on my ZZP downpipe was essentially breaking off the downpipe.
I proceeded to pull the downpipe out. This time since the car was already jacked way up I decided to take the nuts off from the underside. I got both broke loose and then took the drivers side one off. I was taking the passenger side nut off and felt the downpipe putting pressure on the nut, so I went to put my hand up to hold the downpipe and the nut must have hit its last thread because the downpipe fell and smacked me right in the head. It didn't necessarily hurt that bad, but as I got ready to roll out from under the car I felt blood running down my face.
Got that cleaned up and put a band aid on to keep from bleeding everywhere then we welded the flange back to the downpipe as best we could. I put the downpipe back in, I fitted the new resonator assembly and new gasket and bolted everything up. Fired the car up and immediately knew something was wrong. First when I put the downpipe back on I didn't realize the gasket fell off one stud, so it came off again, reseated the gasket, and fired it up again.
Still loud, so I crawled under the car and it was leaking at the flange. My uncle was getting cranky, and I was too so I decided to just clean up and see what I could get in town.
To wind up an already too long of story, I tore back into it after a run to town. The flange on the downpipe was warped to hell and back. After I pulled it back out again I set it flat and tried to hammer it flatter. I used some muffler sealer to try to build up the flange a little. It got dark on me so I called it a day. Got invited to dinner a little later, and since we were already going to be in town I got to stop at WalMart and get some quick steel which I will use to try to level the flange even more tomorrow.
Damn that sucks man, my car is alot louder now. It may be because of more airflow with the k+n air filter, and zzp catted downpipe, or the leak from downpipe to resonator. I messed the flange up on the resonator, so I may be just going to a crashed gp and getting everything from the resonator back for 50-100$ and throwing it on to see if it works for me. I still get a god damn smell when i give it wot. Smells like rotten eggs, fireworks, whatever you want to call it. I replaced cat converter+downpipe, o2 sensors, plugs+wires, fuel filter, air filter to a k+n, seafoamed it, not sure. It may be because the air filters just chilling inside the engine bay, and needs to be boxed in otherwise I have no clue. Ran injector cleaner a couple times now, this smell is just starting to piss me off, its been 10k+ miles now.
The car only has 70k miles on it, and its a 01. When I say car is alot louder now, you compare a stock gt to my gt, and from start up you can notice the difference, it almost sounds like it has a aftermarket whole exhaust setup. It does sound nice, a deep purr, but also a mettalic type sound coming from under the car, right at start up, and goes away soon after starting, resonator leak i am guessing.
Planning on cleaning and giving it a good detail. Been awhile just been so busy with moving and new work schedule. 4am to 12pm is kinda brutal lol

Finished tinting my RF window out of the car. I did a near flawless job on the bench, not a single crease or finger. Just the super tiny bubble here and there from slight contamination of dust. Not even professionals can get it 100% perfect. Also this time I'm cutting out the pattern myself instead of buying precut. I do a better job honestly.
I just need to be careful when I reinstall the window. I put a few small scratches on my drivers window when reinstalling. I'm gonna tape the edge of the door skin so hopefully it can't scratch. Liking the 35% though.
