Something that I also thought was kind of weird was that about 2 weeks ago, I was having a loud tapping/clicking noise coming from the engine. I had just finished up a head gasket swap so I thought it maybe was a loose rocker arm that was causing the noise. Took it to a shop, they said it was the lifters making the noise. Drove it home and the noise went away. Long story short, the noise went away on its own after a few days but on one of those days, it did throw a misfire in cylinder 1. The next day it was gone and that code has not returned either. Even with the noise and "misfire in cylinder 1", it did not affect performance at all. Throttle response was good, it shifted smoothly, temp was good and saw no sign of something wrong. It did sit about 3 months before the swap though. Could that code have been an early warning sign of something? Maybe a crank sensor?
