most engines when they hit 100,000 miles or higher, will eat a quart of oil per 3 to 5,000 miles, and its normal. if you consuming more than that, your rings may be bad, or the seals in the heads are leaking real good. any smoke out the tail pipes when you start it up after its been sitting all night?

Not on mine, not a bit. I always back into the garage, windows down, open the garage door and just reach in and start the car to let her warm up each morning. Never misses a beat or smoke that I can see. Just over 100k on the car and engine is about the same. Pre-install tear down was a clean motor, all new gaskets, runs like a champ.

I just haven't worried about it, going to rebuild my old motor anyways sometime so as long as this one holds out til next summer I don't really care.

Today, drove the GP for delivering papers, then it sits. Hearing some kind of ping/rattle at the front strut/spring area, like a bolt hasn't been tightened. Maybe it will go away.

Got new tires put on my motorcycle. Now I have to loosen up the brakes.

And my low oil light came on right before I needed a change. I think enough has now leaked out and then burned/mixed with road rocks to seal up the leak. Low oil light hasn't come on in 30,000 miles.

Checked the timing chain today it looked perfect still. I'm thinking valve problem. It'll only rev to 2500 in park with your foot on the floor.

I stay away from heavy caps now. My wife had some cool skulls on her tires, and ended up having to take them off since they were throwing the balance off. I didn't believe it until she put plain caps on, and the problems went away.
