I had to take my gt to a mechanic today cuz there was a major oil leak andd brake lines were shot.. gotta pay $600 and they keep it overnight.. its been 2 nights without my car.. and I feel naked without it baha.. I had to get my grams sister to drive me to work in a beat up dodge stratus and it just didnt feel the same o;
I was on my way to work and my transmission started to act up. Real sluggish from a dead stop and some nasty sounds. Got to work and checked the fluid.. solid grey and shiny with a burnt smell to it. Looking like a rebuild or replacement is in my near future![]()
I cleaned my car out then took it out and was playing around with my torque app and it said i have 240hp and trap 105.5 in the quarter @ 14.5 lol I'll bet that's super accurate
Changed the oil. Installed new rotors and pads on front and rear. Cleaned up calipers and gave them a shot of some gloss black.
Raced this
crusin side by side and both slowed to 60 looked at get other and we went, and when he looked at me all he said was "hello, goodby" and he took off
thats a GT3RS btw and im not a fan of overpriced VW's but that one looked and sounded amazing
I saw an old thread on here about an alt rewire so I figured i'd run to autozone and buy a cheap battery cable and try it out. I'll see if any difference is made at all.
After finishing everything up and cleaning up the tools I took the car for a ride to bed the brakes. After a cooling period I went to Subway and bought a sandwhich to treat myself.![]()
Replaced the fuel filter in the 89 and did a fuel injection clean. For a 1989 2.8 i get 32 mpg....
Installed SPO grills
Told myself i wouldnt be going home without getting into the 14's...
first time ever racing at a track.
times could be better. and will with time.
and btw that was a fox body i beat..
The past 3 days enjoyed my splurging of $250 of an overkill tune and I mean damn money well spent. Car is soo much quicker and shifts are intense. Just love the way it pulls to 6200rpm and loving the skip shifts. Only thing not loving too much is $4.23 a gallon for 93 octane but its worth it. Also detailed the car again.
I got and installed my stb's and changed the tie rods and fpr on my mom and dads van.
