ordered up some lake county buffing pads for the HF buffer. then ordered a new rad. then i got the molding clips for my door trim so i can have that last piece of trim on the car finally. i got new/used trim at a part out 2 years ago and have yet to put it on.

all because these break so easy. http://www.ebay.com/itm/271311650771

should be cake. not to worried about it.

im more excited about the trim clips i ordered lol i had that one thin bar of trim is missing, yet on the shelf.

funny part is you can hardly tell its missing, its the driver side back door trim on the bottom of the door. in my sig you can kinda see how the bold line at the top of the front door lower molding just dont follow the back door. well thats this thin trim bar missing.

Had myself an adventure. Last night I picked up the plugs and wires. Today I go out to get the job done. Do the first two without much problem, other than the wires being partly fused to the plugs. Pull out #5 plug, go to the box of 4 plugs and open it to find only 3 are in there. I continue with the job and figure I will deal with the missing plug at the end.

Had the first 3 done, go to the rear, get 2 and 4 done and head to town to get my 6th plug. Come back, let the car cool, start on #6 and begin cussing at the GM "engineers" that decided putting an o2 sensor in the path of getting #6 out was a good idea. Get the plug out, put the new one in, put the car back together, fire it up, and its misfiring. ???

I undo the dogbones again, rock the engine forward with the ratchet strap, and the ratchet strap snaps. Grab another strap and ratchet it forward. Go to take #6 plug back out and it comes out in two pieces. It had snapped right around where the porcelain meets the hex. I decided I was going to take #5 plug out of the front and put it in #6 so I didn't have to rock the engine forward again when I got the new plug. I am tightening #6 again and I hear a crack. The damn thing broke again and I wasn't putting that much pressure on it.

I took #1 out, put it in #6 and finished up. I put two old plugs in #1 and #3 and headed back to town. I told the guy at the counter what had happened and he marked them as defective for me so I didn't have to buy 2 new ones. The only problem was they only had one on the shelf so I have to wait until tomorrow to get the other.

So it sucked that I broke two damn plugs, but it helps that I have spent so much time at Advance over the last 12+ years because they don't mind hooking me up in there.

you need a spark plug socket. its got a foam insert that keeps the plug from braking. at least i've never broken one when using the right socket.

most plug sockets have a bolt head on them too so you can use a wrench on the socket. you know for when the extension or ratchet wont fit.

last plug i broke was on a 350 with headers and a/c, needed like 3 swivels and a 3 inch extension in the middle to get to #8. and just as your making it tight, you hear that damn click. pull out the top of the plug, ok, whos next to try it. we broke a few that day.

Yeah, I thought I might have heard something the first time. Second time I got it tight and wanted to put that extra mm of tightness into it and heard the crack. With how I had my hands and how tight I know plugs are supposed the be there is no reason they should have broken.

its messed up angle for that plug with the o2 sitting there. i was able to put the plug in by hand then used the socket to get it in the rest of the way by hand. then i was able to slide the tip of a extension in the socket, like right up to the locking ball. and made it work like that.

    Correct

Does yours run like absolute crap? My sisters rear knock sensor on her 01 Impala with the 3.8 has broken wires and runs terrible. You go to give it gas and it just shudders and takes forever just to get to 40 mph

you will never believe this... this guy called a few moments ago in regards to a 2000 dodge dakota R/T that we use to own . the guy wants to sell us the truck back but there is a catch the guy we sold it to never put it in his name. then he sold it to someone else for 400 bucks and now he wants to dump the truck its "to small for him" that perfectly ok with us were on our way to get a truck we sold 1 year ago back for under 500 yeah you would be dumb not to jump on that. i think i may be replaceing the speed sensor again on it but 20 bucks were laughing all the way to the bank on this one lololololololol
