After I did my VC gaskets, I had a nice amount of smoke, even though I really didn't see any additional oil from changing the gaskets, they were already covered in burned oil. I used half a can of brake cleaner and "hosed" it down, a little more smell and that was it. Still bone dry today. The rear VC gasket is a little more work to change. Still not bad, I've done so much more in depth things on my car so I'm past that. And after that gasket, not much oil smell followed it. I didn't even clean it very well because I couldn't get the brake clean can back there. A tip would be to make sure you have a backup set of coolant elbows.
The alt bracket had to be moved
Finally off
The bolts that had to be loosened
Nice new gasket/grommets
I always seem to work into the night a little. Doesn't matter when I start, I always end at around the same time (it seems)
