Well yesterday I washed it, waxed it, and got the inside leather conditioned and cleaned up. Then today in the last half hour of my shift (where nothing happened so I could have gone home) there was a completely random downpour of rain, which I might add was not in the weather report. So now I have to wash it again before I can put it in the storage unit.
Put new valve cover gaskets in. I wish GM would have made the alternator bracket so that it doesn't need to be removed for VC removal![]()
I stared at my car.....will be able to drive it soon....I hope.
I've done it a few times. Its very possible
Flushed the dexcool out of a friend's '03 Monte. Complained a few times about how much I hated General Motors. The usual.
I removed the top bolt and loosened the bottom two, so technically it didn't have to come off, but it broke my elbows so it had to come off later anyway
Let me guess, the 3.4? I've done that a few times, I hate dealing with the t-stat housing where it is. The first time it slid out with some convincing, the second it WOULD NOT so I had to remove the crossover heat shield.
Yep... Gave up trying to pull the tstat as a bad job after about 20 minutes and instead ran the car up to operating temperature so the coolant would flow freely, and then let it cool. Got impatient and popped the radiator cap with a towel, and repeated. There's two cans of Prestone flush and cleaner in there right now, I'll finish the job on Tuesday.
Emailed Will @ Overkill Performance. Asked he long it would take to get my PCM back if I shippedbmine to him. He said 12 days. I went ahead and said ohkay I'll go ahead & do that. I can ship Monday. Never heard back from him.
That car has other problems, lol. The selector switch for the HVAC is stuck on "defog", which means the AC runs full time when the fans are on, even if you only wanted vent air. And the tires are as bald as all get out. And the bumper needs Jesus.
Some day, late at night, I'm going to sneak over there and permanently borrow those rust-free rocker panels and trans lines, though, because those make me seriously jelly.
thanks to some "how to" info from this site; I did the hud broken spring repair. Works great. 1.5 hours total repair time. will post some pics
