Well its good that the fenders are so far back, one less body panel to get crumpled in a front end crash. And yeah sorry to see that man..I almost never let anyone drive my car. Since the almost 2 years I've had it, its been me, my dad twice, mom once, and the discount tire guy lol. I've only got one friend I'd let borrow it only because I see him as a good driver, and he drives just like me.
Only positive If it were to happen to me is to go to the s/c world but I've got a lot of time and money (for me) into it.
I'd say if there's no structural damage, buy it back and fix it.
