Well today I; Did an Oil change to 0W30, polished the taillights, headlights, turn signals and exhaust tips on the GXP. On my buddies GTP I replaced the lim gaskets, valve cover gaskets, cleaned the grime off the lim, fixed broken studs on the lim and cleaned a ton under hood. Very sore atm. But, it was worth it. Getting treated to grub and beer at the local brewery. =]

Then as I was walking around the passanger side of the car, which I never do...I noticed the rear tire was a bit low. 14 PSI low. So I checked all the rest and they were at 25. So I pulled the car up to the barn and aired all the tires up. I'll admit, it'd been a long time since I checked the PSI. I also noticed they need rotated, so next oil change that will happen.
Press 'em all the way up to whatever's stamped on the side of the tire (usually 44 psi). Your handling, cornering, and gas mileage will improve dramatically, I promise it.

It's not. Some people do fill them to the max. I wouldn't. I prefer 35-37 which is higher than what the sticker says, but they will last longer. Of course when they get dry rotted like mine are, I'm staying at 30 because this warning symbol is correct.

Running the max tire pressure is only for when you are perhaps hauling something heavy and you are reaching the max load on the tires.

You are just going to wear a tire faster by running the MAX psi on it, and plus it'll ride like poop because its rock hard.

it also varies with how big or short your sidewalls are, ive found a great balnce with 45series tires being at 40psi

Yeah that's ok, ill pass on the max psi. I put them at 36/37 being they were a bit warm.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to quote reply on the new tapatalk. Sorry.

I run a little higher than the sticker... closer to the max. It's a personal choice and roads by me aren't all that bad. If you are on cow paths (no offense), you really want to be a little lower so the tire helps with things. And traction is improved on not so perfect surfaces.

But then..I'm also the guy who bought tires/rims off a buddy a year ago, never checked inflation, ran them last year.. just put them back on and still hasn't checked inflation.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

when i had my 03 gmc i ran BF Goodrich a/t 33's. if i ran them at 35 or 40 psi they wore out in 30,000 miles with rotating every other month, ( i was driving 3000 miles a month) pumped up to 55 psi they would last 60,000 miles. and the truck handled better for sure, the ride was a bit harsher, but its a truck so who cares right?

Luckily in my case the tires have been through a complete "life cycle" and they have like 10% tread remaining on the backs, and probably 20% on the fronts. I'd get new ones right now but I cant decide what I want to get. It needs to be an all season tire and $110 or under. I may just put the same tires back on. They fit that category. They're michelin symmetry's. They were $120 a few months ago. I'm happy with them, but obviously mine are old and worn out. They grip the road pretty well and even at 30% tread they did great in the snow.

I could never live in California. Every time I hear something that isn't allowed there, I'm like What?! Gas is expensive and I like that there's no emissions testing here. I'm not sure where I'd move if going out of state. My cousin lived in Tennessee for a few years, and the storms there are kinda crazy, but that's in a lot of states. All the hailstorms and stuff too. Just things that Michigan gladly never gets.

New thermostat. Went from 180° (for the summer only) to a 192°, and might stick with that all year around.
I didn'y spill a drop at the t-stat housing, I siphoned a gallon of coolant from the rad first, works well for now making a mess. Plus It's easy to know how much to put back in, exactly how much I took out. I only spent 2 minutes bleeding, and put the little that was left in the overflow tank.

    Crappy phone pics

    Fail-safe 192°
