I am putting in a transit blu hf. It needs a 12v switched power source. I bought a fuse tap and did this before, but I can't remember which one is switched.

The sunroof is switched? I could use that since I don't have a sun roof.

Doesn't the radio stay on with the RAP?

My fuse tap is 2-10 amps. The sunroof is 20, but since there is no sun roof, does it matter?

sun roof is more then likely blank inside the fuse block.

when using a add a fuse, your still using your amp fuse with it. as well as the spot your using to put it in. it just splits the 12 volt source.

Ok. More thoughts. I want something with RAP so it stays on with the radio. Just not a constant, like the mirrors.

    So what is RAF/MOD?

    Can I use the HVAC?

you can use any fuse that dont work when the cars off.

like i said, your adding a new fuse to the fuse slot. its splits the 12 volt source. so the add a fuse now holds two fuses.

you can take a 2 dollar test light and test the fuses for power car off.

Well, the investigation started. All the 10A fuses are hot. The only switched one I could find was the cruise/sw. No problem. Tapped into it and got excited. Started to strip the radio and interior (in the ice cold garage) only to find that the antenna on a GM car is not the same as a standard motorola adapter. Off to Best Buy to get the adapters in the AM.

Your picture above shows 2amp for the cruise circuit. That seems low, but if it is correct, I would stay away from it.

The radio circuit is a safe choice.
