I disagree with your last 2 statements. Caps or batteries wont help engine whine at all. As for seperate grounds, I have run upwards to 6-8 amps from one single ground using 0gauge wire and never had an issue. Now in this car I running 3 amps atm and the all run from the rear tower bolt with no issues. But I gotta give ya props on choosing JL

Well, considering I installed everything myself, and no noise was present, I'm about 110% I did everything right. I didn't say caps would prevent engine noise. I was trying to say by not using them, your causing excessive drain on battery which causes the alternator to kick out juice that it's not meant to be kicking out. And yes, that can lead to noise. About the grounds. The correct way to ground is to ground each component separately. At least, that's the way we did it when I worked at Car Tronics out there in Rivergate.

Ahh Cartronics... We destroyed those cars in SPL and SQ To each his own, whatever works. But that was a few years ago... maybe someone came up with the ground everything byself concept while I was away idk. As far as alt "kicking out" juice and producing, I think cartronics mislead you. If anything the amp will malfunction or just plain shutdown but it WONT produce engine whine.... which is what this thread is about. Jacob, if you wanna ground everything seperate then have fun but don't waste your money on a lightning cap.
