Connected 2 different amps my 6X9s and there is a great deal of whine. Seems like from my subs to but hard to hear because it cuts most of that out. I have heard of the Noise supressors from Radio shack any good? The 2 amps run off of 1 Positive comming from the Batt but have there own grounds going to the Shock tower on each side of the car. One goes to one side the other amp goes to the other side. Any Ideas

Most work but it's a bandaid. I would fix the problem instead if I was you. Couple of things I would do is, run power wire and rca's on opposite side of each other, make sure your ground is on bare metal(sand down if have to) and replace you rca cables. Also I dont know where your amp is mounted but if your amp is screwed down and the screw is touching metal that an do it too. Hope you get it fixed I know how frustrating it is. I have had a TON of noise from this car. Almost as bad a a Saturn.

I always run my RCAs on the Opposite side of the car from the power wire. THat was a llesson learned a while back. I could try different RCA Cables. The Amp is mounted to the Back of my Box and I will try sanding the paint off from under the screw for the Shock tower

Btw, what kinda of amp is it? Some amps are just noise prone. And if you bought it used it could just be a bad amp. Kinda hard to say. Good luck

engine whine is a ground loop, running power lines with rca's won't cause it unless running garbage (a guy who won sq finals in iasca proved that theory wrong a while ago as he had everything in a bundle to prove it) a cap can help as that is basically what a ground loop isolator is (just hook it up on the ground instead of the power) I always grounded mine together (used a distribution block even on the competition vehicles, and was the preferred method at the time) keep the grounds short as they can act as an antenna

Yea I have seen ppl bundle it too but I guess I'm just a creature of habit. Couldnt agree more that RCAs are about 90% of the noise most the time. Anyways noise sucks hope you get it cleared up.

Well I am going to get some good RCA Cables hopefully that is my problem I have kind of cheap ones now and thought that it would be OK if I ran them seperate from the Power I am running the RCA's on the Drivers side and the power on the pass side. What kind of RCA's do you recommend

I have cheap ones and I get no noise and have all my wires ran in a bundle. Like Arch said, keep your ground wire as short as possible. In the past I have had whine in other vehicles and moved where I had the ground a 1/4 turn on the bolt and retighten it and the whine went away. You don't have to spend 100 bucks on rca's.

Well I Sanded down the paint on my two shock owers this afternoon to no help. Then I hooked one amp up the way I used to have it before I got the new desk. I found a thread on here how to make RCA's in the trunk from the wires that go to the Bose Amp and I used them before the new desk for a while and no noise out of them. So I hooked the amp up that way it works with no noise. So I guess that I am going to have to buy some better RCA Cables cause that is where it seems to be coming from. WOuld you all agree. I am going to try and just pull the deck and run an RCA away from everything eles and see if this improves. I am so sick of this damn noise!!!!!!

THis thing is freaking killing me. I think it might be something with my Speakers now I went to check to make sure that the correct wires were on the correct posts and I got shocked by my speaker wire what the hell is that. Now I have the Bose amp running the front speakers and the rear 4 Inch But I disconnected the bose amp in the trunck and still noise in the subwoofer and the 6X9 amps. I have the Sub Outputs going to the Sub amp and the Front and rear outputs going to my other 4 ch amp. if I disconnect the 4 CH amp RCA Plugs it cuts my Subwoofer amp off. I am lost here peopke please help me. Also I tried unhooking my 4 ch amp and when I pulled the ground cable it shut my Sub Amp Off. the only way I can get anything to work is if I use the Branch off RCA Connectors that I connected to the Bose Stock amp and that runs one channel my 6X9s and it runns tham clear and without nosie. Oh yea and I also tried hooking up new RCA Cables run in the middle of the car in the open to see if it was noise from the RCAs. My 6X9s are run from the first 2 channels of the Amp to a set of crossovers and then split to the 2 separate inputs on my 6X9s

Just so I know how you have things run, you have one amp running your 6X9's and subs, and a seperate amp running the others? correct?

I have a 2 channel amp running my subs and A 4 ch amp running my 6X9s but that amp is set to 2 channel right now and I am only using ch 1 and ch 2 of that amp. ANd the stock bose amp is running the front speakers and Rear 4 inch speaker still the Wires that went from the Bose amp to the 6X9's are just taped up

And you are running a aftermarket deck? If so, double check the ground on that also. That can pick up engine noise, push it trough the rca's to the amp and cause a loud whine. I'm just trying to hit all the basics with you right now. Sometimes it is the simpliest things that cause the most problems.

Yes I am I just got a Pioneer DEH-5000UB when I installed it is when the problems started. I will check that what about my 2 ch amp shutting off when I pull the RCA's off my 4 ch amp. And getting shocked by my Speaker wire

I have been shocked before also. If you have any moisture on your hands from sweating, you can feel a jolt. Sound through the wires is electricity. Also make sure on the amp connections, there isn't any strands of the power wire touching the speaker terminals, if they are that close. Had a guy one time couldn't get his amp to turn of and it ended up being one small strand from the power wire touching the remote terminal. As for your sub amp shutting down. You have the sub outputs on the back of the deck or on the 4ch amp?
