    Was the wiring there already and it was just like a connector or did you have to wire things?

    On 04's I never seen the wiring, however most if not all 05 and 06 has the wiring.

    The easy way to find out is to look under your dash from the passenger side and look up to the black connector going to the console. If you only have around 3 or four wires your not prewired for hud in the dash.

    If you have 9 wires in this connector the wiring is already in the dash. This is the connector half coming from the dash that plugs into the console. You will still need the switch harness that goes into the center console.

    Heres a picture of my connector for reference;

    Mine has 9 wires so does that mean that there's a connector in the dash that the HUD just plugs into? And then I just plug in the new center console into the connector the current one is plugged into?

    Subscribed indeed. Always wanted a HUD. Now I need to go look under my dash and check my plug.

    Yup exactly, You will find the connector that plugs into the HUD Projector and the new console with switch and wiring just plugs right in and good to go.

    Ya cus I'm looking at my dash it's all one piece left to right. That's gotta be a pain to change for one with a HUD opening. Unless I'm missing something

    The part close to the windshield just pulls up and then you can put in a different trim piece.

    I think.

    You will need the windshield trim piece along with cutting the required hole in your dash or getting a new one, Heres a pic to show what i mean when I installed mine

    I chose the route of cutting my dash and taking the whole thing off made it alot easier to make a better cut. Just used a dremel to make the cut and used the windshield trim piece as a template.

    How hard was it to take the whole dash apart?

    It's not hard, just a few things have to come off. I will try to upload some pics to describe it in the next few days.

    Heres a pic of my dash almost to the point where it's ready to be taken off.
    basically radio, climate controls, steering column, piller trims, windshield trim where the hud goes, ignition switch, bolts, Airbag bolts behind glove box, glove box,etc has to come out.
    On gpona.com if you sign up you can access the service manual up on top and this will show graphics and all instructions to do pretty much anything.

    When I have all my tools together I can have it removed in about an hour.

    And here is my dash when I cut the hole for the hud using the new hud trim as a template. Was was able to cut the holes the trim snaps and all.
