I got these subs for free and i would like to hook them up to the stock headunit in my gtp. Its a 2002 and has the bose system. If someone could explain to me the easiest way to hook these up that'd be great. I would really appreciate it. Here are some pictures. The owner before maybe had some hooked up? I think this is and amp of some kinda in the first picture. There are some others. Thanks.

The Wheelen CSP660 is a strobe power supply. Usually only used for Emergency vehicles. Police, Fire, Rescue etc. It is not an amp. Was your car a police vehicle???

The problem you are gonna have is the factory bose system.it is 8 ohm and even with a line converter.you want be able to get the full potential of your sub/amp.also hook line converter up to speakerwires from deck not from bose amp.

For right now i am going to keep my factory bose headunit. Will i be able to tell that the subs are there? So i hook up line converter to speaker wires. I can do this to the rear speakers in my trunk, the wires that go directly to my rear 6x9 speakers? splice the wires and then conect rca's to my sub amp?

Car audio guy at best buy recomended this..

    Scosche - 2-Channel Adjustable Line-Out Converter - Clear - LOC80

And then said to hook it up on the lines from bose amp to the rear speakers..
You guys are saying to splice before the amp is there a reason for this?

With the line converter, the sound is going to differ in volume as the wattage is going to be different, so eliminating on variable makes the equation easier. The signal will be purer straight from the head unit, which will lead to better sound quality.

The sub amp I assume has a low pass filter.
if not then you need a way to block the highs as the signal your getting is full range.

These cars are such a pain in the ass when they come with bose...it took me 3 months to figure out how to put my new head unit and subs in...i put it in first and no sound from the speakers and after doing some researching and asking around i found out that there is 2 wire harnesses that come into the stock head unit one for speakers etc and the other for the steering wheel controls...well the steering wheel control harness has a pink wire on it and that is the remote turn on wire for the bose amp to get the speakers to turn on..i went to walmart and bought this...

Buy.com - Scosche SLC4 Speaker to RCA Four Channel Line output converter

this adapter also will work for what you wanna do since you can use it 3 different ways....plus it lets you adjust the speaker levels the way you want them.......

No, you will need to run a new power wire. Anywhere between 4 and 8 gauge, depending on the wattage of your amp. The lines to the strobe supply look too small.

03 GTP...Its got pulleys and stuff.

Compatible? The sub amp will have nothing to do with the factory amp. Just run a 4 or 8 gauge power line from your battery to the sub amp. Find a grounding point in the trunk, and run the RcAs from the in-line to the sub amp.
