    No that will not dim your headlights... A cap is completly useless also, I am pulling 85 amps and have no dimming issuses after upgrading all the wiring under the hood.

    I just said to think about a cap if the headlights begin to dim..... my old baretta had that issue.... didn't say he had to get one.... just wanted to make sure he was well informed.... some people don't even know what a cap is.... and since I don't have mine hooked up (doing that tomorrow) I am not sure how much that altinator can take before you begin to see voltage drops... my guess though is around 2,000watts.... also got to keep in mind the age of the altenator and the types of headlights and fog lights and ect a person has... fancy headlights are power hungry....

    done with my rant... no offense to anyone... just wanted to make sure that IF he began having that issue he would already know what had to be done... makes life easier.
