Factory stereo had some lights burned out, tried to figure out how to replace, 2 wires pulled from block (connecting front plate to pc board).
I think I got them re-installed and holding and found buned bulbs but they look to be soldered in.
Re-installed stereo but display is jacked. right side of display is darker, info does not show, display shows some lines that fade.
Is this due to the pulled wires or the theft lock?
Is there a way to reverse theft lock?

The reason your display is dim on one side is simply putting it back together usually finishes off the display bulbs(they were ready to burn out).
If its the single disc player you got three behind the display.
All the bulbs are soldered in so you will need to desolder them and soldernew ones, after i upgraded mine to the whole monsoon setup i replaced the burned bulbs in the single disc to make a writeup, I will post back when i can get all the pictures together and a writeup.
The theftlock will not be affected, as for the pulled wires i pulled one and then realized you have to open the cover first and unplug the front panel before removing it, fixed it with no issues at all.

Thanks michaelbm, i think you are right on.
I pulled the thing apart again and my fix was un-fixed.
I had to re-rig the wires and superglue them in so the tension of putting the front back on wouldn't pull them back out - the wires are a hair shorter than they should be.
Everything works but the display has the dark area.
I don't really want to un-solder & re-solder the bulbs, I would end up junking the thing. I will have to live with it or get a different unit.
Any idea if the multi disc unit fits in the dash, or is this another unit to plug into. I have a 99 denalli with the 6 disc in the center console. same thing?
Also curious if any of the factory units have the aux. plug. This would make a trip to the junkyard worth it.
