Bandpass!
Build a bandpass box and have it port directly into the cabin.
The second build is stupid because only the lowest frequencies are coming into the cabin and the higher ones are trapped in the trunk still.
The first one is a fail because its a horrible bandpass box.
Either bandpass or mount the subs right where the holes are and mount the box on the bottom side.
