So far the only time I have had the "battery saver active" is when I forget to turn off my hid low beams during the day and the DRL's make them strobe.
I Assume what that means is when hid ballast are rapidly firing the car thinks it has a short. With your situation I would lean toward a short or poor connection somewhere. Ignition switch mabey?
(I was told if I ran a relay harness, my lights would not strobe out DRL style. But they do. )
