I have noticed on my 04 comp g that at certain times especially at night when the headlights r on that certain things drain my battery more. For example trying my rear windows causes my headlights to dim and my battery meter drops ro 13 to 13.5 volts and thats when the charge system failure light comes on. Any ideas?

Alternator sounds like its dying if the you are seeing these problems.

The alternator should be able to keep up with small loads on the system like you are doing. A quick drop in voltage but then bounce right back to the same if not higher voltage to keep up and level out near 13.5 to 14v.

Wouldnt hurt to check battery cables and such for problems, clean them all and the grounds and see if that helps.

Try cleaning and making sure stuff is tight first and then just keep an eye on things.

We had a 05ish grand prix in the shop one time that went through 3 alts with this issue before the 4th alternator stopped the problem.
