I could see that being a flex.

Easy way to tell for sure.. take it out.. beat the piss out of it close the the shop..and when it breaks fully.. push it back in.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Bill with the flex broke or cracked goin bad wouldn't the trans shift like s**t or no shifts? Riding behind his car yesterday I could hear that thing struggling through shifts when mine was broke it didn't shift for nuthing

Shouldn't hurt the shifts unless it's not getting power to the trans because it's broken bad enough already. Or.. it's loud enough the knock sensors are picking it up.

I cracked mine and driving etc was totally unaffected. Does it quiet down when it's under load?

Yeah its really quiet under load then in park or idle you really hear it... same go with my old setup..I told him to hold the brake and rev it and the noise was gone .. let off the brake and the b***h came right back..

Drove home from the shop with cruise set at 70 on the interstate so I could see what it would do. Its fine cruising and zero knock and zero misfires, no DTC codes on the aeroforce.

Look at it as practice. You know you'll be pulling that thing apart plenty.

BTW, you need a name change to something like 98NOBALLZVet, cause clearly your car doesn't have the scrotum to stretch a chain based on how much clearance to the casing that you had.

I honestly dont think I beat on it that hard I roll into it and ive owned enough of these cars I know that drop shifts are hader on them than the way I drive. ever a few burnouts here and there I dont think is that bad as long as I dont abrubtly let off or stop quickly so it needs to downshift fast..

god I hope its the damn flex plate!!

IDK.. I saw a few things in your posting that led me to think you drove kinda hard.

there is a difference between driving it hard and beating on IMO. like I said I dont force the trans downshift hard or skip shifts or anything.

btw jay wasnt in my car after the chain replacement only time he went along was when he rode with me to the shop on post.
