If you want SLP headers then just get some SS Autochrome headers. They are stainless steel replicas of SLP headers for cheap. One suggestion though would be to replace the flex with an interlock flex from ZZP, cause the flex sections on both the regular SLP's and the knockoffs have been known to tick and sometimes blowout.

that is horrible advice for headers.

honestly if you can deal with the headaches that ALL of the header brands out there offered to us, then youll be fine. find a good deal on whichever you think you would like the best and take it.

i have the "small" headers that are made for our cars and yet my car runs like a champ compared to some people who think they have it good with the "best" (TOGs).

Although I dont have headers, I've seen a million threads on this.

Save your money and get the SS Autochromes. Find someone who knows what their doing to install them or help you install them. Read up on what you need to properly seal (clamps, RTV) and you will be just fine and have an extra $500 in your pocket.

Anyone have any input on OBX headers? You can find them on ebay for 300.00 stainless even.

Good luck installing them. I heard you have to cut and re-weld them in order to fit right.

I can't believe people are actually advocationg those terrible SS autochrome and OBX pieces of garbage.

I still don't even think the Pacesetters are up to the job.

TOG's, ZZP Stainless, SLP's or S&S is the way to go.

Once again the GP communtiy proves that cost > quality.

headers are better than no headers. the real issue is some will leak a tad bit more than others.

thats really all it comes down to.
you got this guy above me telling you to spend more money. but he wont give a reason other than he spent a lot on his headers so you must also.
you wont find dyno numbers for all of them and they will all kill KR wonderfully.
i agree go big or go home, but i mean it in the sense of buy headers or go home.

    S&S for the win!

easiest to install, have been out forever so their design is good, and they are the cheapest of the "good" headers.

I heard the pace setters were a PITA and not worth the trouble, I am going to use the ZZP stainless but I have heard the S&S headers are good and reliable.

No because I only put qauilty parts on my car.

I have Gen 2 Togs, I retain my EGR and have 0 leak issues. I can also install and uninstall them in under 3 hours (Easier on my car than a stock one)

Leaky headers will mess with your 02 readings, not to mention being extremly annoying.

The TOG's, SLP, ZZP and S&S headers are all made with quality in mind and have all stood up to the test of time (excluding the ZZP's but I know they will .

Go big or go home is a terrible idea on headers. Only heavily, heavily modded cars need the larger primaries, which is one of the reasons the S&S are so good for midly moded cars.

Personally I think that the pacesetters are too big. Not to mention that the primaires are too big, they have leak issues and for some people they have clearance issues. If you get pace****ters as they have lovingly been dubbed, make sure you get coated ones or they will look like ass real fast.

i would happily buy my S&S autochromes over again.
    paid $324 shipped w/ DP
zero leaks, stainless steal, installed in 5 hours(first time doing headers on a GP) and of course i retained my EGR.

    what did i do wrong?

that being said, yes i would have liked to get some TOG's, but i dont regret my decision at all.

Pacesetters worked great for me. Just get some band clamps for the y-pipe and they work well. Also had to use longer bolts on the crossover and I reused stock manifold gaskets. Installing the headers was easy enough.

The S n' S headers aren' that bad of headers either. I dont see a reason to spend $700 on a set of headers, they all have their weaknesses.
