Has anyone use the OBX headers and dp that i see everywhere on ebay? Seems really cheap for $299 compared to nice slp or zzp headers. Are they worth to buy or should i just save for a better quality piece?
thanks for any input

you are going to have a hell of a time installing them if they are slp knockoffs. otherwise they work.
fitment and installation difficulty are really want people end up paying for.
OBX are knockoffs of the PaceSetters, but better material (304ss vs mild). SSAC/XS Power stainless headers are knockoffs of the more expensive SLP's, also with better material than the originals (321ss vs 409ss).
I don't know about fit on the OBX, as nobody's mentioned getting some yet (I'm sure they'll be selling, though). The SSAC's have had very little fit issues, and if you properly clear a path behind the engine, install is not an issue. I've installed multiple sets from the top-only, it just takes moving all vac lines, harnesses, and brackets in preparation & rocking the engine forward (flat ground, or slight forward tilt helps alot).
Slip fits are a touchy thing to get right, but time and care usually prevails. The only thing about the location of the ones on the OBX/PaceSetters, is that there's 2 right against the firewall where you'll hear them. If you don't get both of them sealed 100%, I hear alot of complaints about the leaks.
I'd honestly consider buying one of the $299 sets of headers 2x over, before even looking at anything more expensive on the market (especially since you CAN buy at least 2 sets of them before reaching the cost of the others).

XS/SSAC have a 3" d/p and 1-5/8 primaries. (I emailed them and told them to fix their description, because someone obviously didn't know what to put & copied PaceSetter's). I made plenty of power, when I was running a 330whp+ setup on my non-I/C'd Gen V... and it's definitely not holding me back with the I/C'd MP112 right now.
I personally have loved mine for the 3-4yrs I've had them. Only change has been doing a custom 3" flange & wideband bung before the cat-back, along with a ZZP interlock flex. Also did the flex upgrade for another guy from Albany area.
Not sure if the OBX have the single-wall flex like PS and XS, but I'd assume so. The choice is up to you, but at least the price and material of 2 headers are finally equivalent & good.

I am planning on buying some this winter and putting them on when i do my lim.
Anybody past the rocker level got some good results with these? I only know of RonV that ran them on an above average car, with gobs of custom stuff galore on his 12.1 gutted rocker drag car.
With my "XS" headers, I was able to snag the top whp for stock heads without I/C or squirting on the 1st dyno pull after my GenV swap a couple years ago.
Just saying, I haven't seen many non-TOG/SLP styles being put to the test beyond the bolt-on level.

im not sure there are enough people out there running them to actually prove they flow that well because everyone is worried about it and wants the big ones right away.
i actually like how they keep a little low end for me.
I don't recall his screen name, but there's a member over at ClubGP with a S1X setup with a Gen V, S3 intercooler and S&S headers running mid 11's at 114mph. Doesn't sound like the 2.5" downpipe is holding him back much.![]()
well i dunno if santa is going to bring me the OBX or the SSAC headers, i havent decided yet, not too many people are running them for me to make a decision
The XS Power headers are also $299 on ebay. In their description it says:
STAINLESS STEEL
321 HIGH GRADE , YES NOT BURMESE CHEAP OBX GRADE
HIGH GRADE STAINLESS STEEL
Also, can I attach my 3" zzp downpipe to the OBX or XS-Power headers?
I don't think you can. I emailed the guy on ebay about the obx ones and he said they came with a 3" dp.
Most headers come with there own downpipe, and none of them bolt up to ZZPs or any other vendors downpipes.
