After my friend and I installed my SD headers I took it for quick drive. After roughly 2 min car started surging and almost dying. So came back and we scanned it, and codes p0136 and p0141 popped up. Both point to front bank o2 sensor. I can't remember anything bad I did other then maybe when I twisted it trying to reinstall I may have damaged it? But then today same thing occurred but 3 other codes popped up p0030,0131, and 0135. Same issue car surges for a few and acts like it wants to die. I also have the zzp o2 sensor extension for the front, could that be defective or should I just replace the front o2 sensor?

Did you use an extension harness or did you make your own?

oops missed the part where you said you had the extension harness sorry

You might have damaged the wires in the 02 sensor like you are thinking, that is the only thing I can really think of. Just run to Napa and get a new Denso 02 sensor.

zyea ill do that. It may have been when i twisted it i forgot to unhook from original harness and the wires twisted and may have damaged some. I also sprayed pb blast on it to get it off i dont know if that matters. didnt get too much on sensor though.

Stupid question but you did make sure the O2 extension isn't laying on the headers right?

Found the issue,it was my extension harness being welded/melted from touching headers lol. Good call iceman.

Just use some solder, heat shrink and some electrical tape.

a soldering kit would cost under the cost of a new harness. and you now have it forever.

Do i need to necessarily solder? I was told i can get away by just twisting them good and use electrical tape plus heat shrink, and would it be ok if i ran my front o2 unplugged for a few days til i resolve this? i work 4 days straight.

Go grab a cheapo solder gun from HF and solder it. That way the connection is solid and will not break easiky

Glad you got it sorted out... Mine acted funny after header install.. Turned out mine was sitting on my headers too, that's why I asked.

oh dear lord, who ever told you that, find them, then smack them lol

HF iron is like 3 bucks, (10 at sears) solder at the shack is 5 bucks, you want flux core solder, its thin and in a tube. then HF shrink tubes are 3 bucks for a huge ass assorted box. or 5 or so at the shack for way less of them.

you tube show to solder, theres nothing to it.

dont think your engine will like that to much. you could do the twist and tape as a temp fix till you can do it the right way later this week.

I would rather use butt connectors over twisting and taping for a temp fix.
