Just my personal experience, the steel wires of the O2 sensor do not accept solder at all. I am pretty good at soldering, I cleaned the contacts and used flux. The copper wire I used to extend it saturated in solder, but the steel wires wouldn't at all.

if the extension harness is copper it will work. but if ss like you said they wont solder, then your stuck using a butt connector, and some shrink tubes.

yea i cut the connector off the o2 part and they are silver little wires. the extension has bronze wires.

I usually solder in two ways:

    1) Tin both wires. put them together like an = sign, heat them up and tap them together. This is very quick easy and very strong.

    2) http://makezine.com/2012/02/28/how-t...asa-standards/ I use this if its something very important, i mean if it holds space ships together It better hold my LED on!

this is exactly how i like to twist my wires. from that link up top. those are one tough solder joint. you can snap the wire hard and they never fail.
