There really isn much benefit to goin genV unless youre sub 3.0-3.1 pulley on a genIII... ya its more efficient but untill you get down to the smaller pullies, youre not taking advantage of the efficiency gain. Its the same with the TB/maf... if youre not outflowing a stock TB/maf... there wont be any advantage to upgrading.

So what you are saying is that there isnt a reason to swap to a gen v n* lq4 and i wont feel a "difference" just more "whine" unless i drop lower pullies?

The reason the Gen V gets your 15 - 20 HP is because of the effiencey of it. For the price of the Gen V, LIM, Gaskets, ECT... You can get the same gains by dropping to a 3.6ish pulley on a Gen III... That's what he's saying... It's more practical to swap once you've droped pulley size considerably.

    3.8" GenV = 3.6" GenIII

As for the N* LQ4 combo, I have it on my car. Throttle response is noticable, but it wears my leg out because it's a loose throttle.. LOL I feel myself holding my foot up if that makes sense...

What other mods do you have already?

3.4 pulley sd headers exhaust 105# springs xp cam single rollermaster chain intake tune could get gains dropping to a 3.2 3.0 for the gen v n* lq4 setup?

If your throttle is mushy, just add another spring to the TB.

It would benefit you more then someone stock. As for how much others would have to chime in.. I'm running a Gen III ATM..

If you don't mind me asking, if you have a boost gauge, what boost are you getting on your current setup?

I dont see you being able to run that low of a pulley on a genV with that mod list. As far as switching to a genV in general, it's not gonna hurt anything, but its not gonna help much either as you would need to run ~3.6 since you have a 3.4 on a genIII. A genV swap is not like putting on headers or a cam in regards to a set hp gain. Same with the TB, you wont gain X amount of hp by just slapping on a bigger one. You might feel a difference in "throttle response" (even though you aren really improving it with a N*, it just seems like it with the blade opening quicker than stock). When I went genV i switched TBs as well simply because it was easier to install than messing with the other adapter stuff at the time.

to go e85 youd need to step up to 60lb injectors. Why are you so worried about what pulley to run? Run the smallest you can with 18-20* of timing and an AFR 11.5-11.6 (obviously this can very some). That may be a 3.0 or a 3.4... the reality is that there is just no way to tell until you do it.
