So my dad knows this guy who's got a mill who can port out my supercharger and lim. We're hopefully gonna go up there sometime in a few weeks and I was jw what kinda gains i could expect from this. All my mods are in my sig and currently my best time at the track was 13.34 with little traction (probably should start lookin into slicks ) All comments are helpful thanks.

None. Lowered outlet temps, a louder supercharger. That's it. Only thing I could see it doing is killing some KR you might have. I'd port your throttle body at the same time...but then it needs a new tune to go with that.

I noticed a Throttle response gain but i did a ported SC and throttle body at the same time. It also helped with my KR.

Yeah forgot to mention that were doin the throttle body as well. We're gonna get a tune for the maf tables as well. Great thing is I got a 2.8 on there with 0 knock so far but hey lowering the chances of getting it is always good

I smell something fishey in here by your mod list and now worried about a ported SC with all those mods. If you really do have all those mods why didnt you get a ported SC and TB a long time ago?

Would you worry about something that really doesn't make a difference if your already cammed and intercooled? I bet he could run a 2.6" with the stock TB and blower still if he wanted and had a custom tune. Hell...I'd go GenV and N* or LS1 setup before going to just a ported TB/ported GenIII...it would be worth it...start out with a 3.2" on the GenV though...and you'll still be making more power.

Think a 3.2 on a Gen5 N* LS1 headers, E85 60#ers HPTuner 3.29s on stock heads and cam, would rock a cammed IC'd ported Gen3 with 2.6?? If so I' d be damn happy and spend half the money too!!

E85 is going to trump most anything pump gas anyways...plus...with E85...you better be dropping lower than a 3.2". Then again...even if it is a N* or LS1...that's way overkill for a stock heads/cam/rocker car.

Comparing those two cars it'd be close. I'd still lean towards the cammed genIII car. With a stock valvetrain you just can't really touch what a cam can do if the guy behind the tuner knows what they are doing.

spare 00 NA engine is in my garage and plan is still to be Gen5 headers, 60#, HPTuned and 3.4 or 3.2 to start, E85, NO IC NO Meth, still working on a price agreement for stage 3 milzy motorsports ported heads and Intense stage 3 cam. So either way this may sound like a better combo than Im expecting with cam and heads. Will have 3.29s too maybe 3.69 still looking into that.

Procrastination is a bi+(h. We never actually confirmed as date with the guy who's gonna port it out last year when we did the rebuild. We figured what the hell why not do it now? This plus maybe slicks is probably gonna be the last thing I do to it anyway. I'm happy with where it's at and have had no issues besides the ic pump going out on me. Where runs like a beast for my dd plus im running out of money lol

Has your car ever been to the track? And I've talked to others that were talking about rebuilding or porting a Gen3 honestly just find a Gen5 a stock Gen5 would be better than even the best Gen3 SC.

Dude i go to the track so often that i actually told my work that i was unavailable to work on fridays (test and tune night) and scheduled my classes for college so that i didnt have classes on fridays either my personal record is 13 runs in one night

Also the guy thats gonna port the sc and lim is gonna do it for free so thatll save me about 300 bucks

If you can find a gen V for free by all means let me know and ill gladly switch to it lol

in the few things ive read about it ~1500 would be your cost area. Ive heard that a gen v is as efficient as an intercooled gen III.

so for you its prolly not worth it, seeing as your already IC'd

damn 1500. not worth it. and what exactly do you mean by more efficient does it just run cooler?

So your saying a fully ported inlet/outlet gen III isnt as good as a stock Gen V? N a fully ported gen III gains no power at all? Where as the Gen V adds HP?

Ok...not sure who said what here but here is the deal.

GenV = $500 or less iof you know where to shop
    GenV LIM = $50? Or so...like I said...shopping
    New GenV S/C gasket = $10
GenV to L67 TB Adapter Plate = Whatever ZZP wants for one...

So...$700? And that's being generous...if you DIY stuff it can be had for less.

    GenIII vs. GenV

The Generation 5 M90 is a WAY more efficient blower due to the intake side of the case and rotors, outlet, etc. It is technically still a "M90" but its way different. Dropping pulley sizes on a GenV is also tougher since it takes less parasitic loss from the motor...thus causing less heat...less KR...but it doesn't take a tiny ass pulley to make the power, like on a GenIII. A nice guide I like to use is this...

    GenIII 3.8" = GenV 3.8"...stock for stock...its fine.
GenIII 3.4" = GenV 3.6"...this is where it starts to get a bit different
GenIII 3.0"-3.25" = GenV 3.4"...even smaller for the GenIII, starting to get close to machined snout time
GenIII 2.55"-2.8" = GenV 3.0"-3.25"...keep in mind...knock at these levels are WAY more dangerous than on a 3.4" setup...1-2* of knock on a 2.55" is like 8-10* on a 3.4"...just keep in mind.

BUT...the GenV is a great swap for those on a GenIII who are running out of pulley size...like the OP. Hence why I suggested it. ESPECIALLY if you don't knock on the 2.6" with that GenIII.

Ok 700 is a lot cheaper then the 1500 but is still expensive. Im pretty sure that 2.8 is the lowest im gonna go with my setup. I might go 2.6 but i really dont feel like machining the snout down any more than I already did for the 2.8 (yes its said that snout machining isnt required for the 2.8 but i tried putting it on and it barely didnt fit so I had to take the dremel to it and shave off a bit). Although... depending if i have no knock i might do it for the track if i really feel like it later

And whats the lowest pulley someones ever put on a genV that you know of? Just curious i mean there would probably be knock out the a$$ something like 25* with a 2.55 on there lol

Also since this is most likely all im gonna do to mine i was looking for a pcm from zzp one that was reprogrammed for my mods bc the one i got on there now is from zzp but it was just the basic one with no specifications of what i had in my setup. Im sure that this would help but how much do you think? Would it be worth it for the $125?

Thanks for all your input guys everything helps
