In my eyes, I see two seperate gaskets. The rear engine cover is one and the rear main is a second.

A rear engine cover gasket will appear to look like an oil pan gasket is bad. Yet no matter how many times you replace it.. you can't stop the leak. A rear main should show up with a moist flexplate. As the oil seeps out, it's on the crank and then the flex and it will sling it all over inside the bell houseing.
