grab the push rod and spin it, to see if its not bent. you may want to put some thread locker on the rocker bolt if the push rod is good. so it dont back off again.

looks like a nice cheap fix so far, you can re use the v/c gasket if its not all smashed looking too.

Guys got the rockers all torqued down just right with thread locker on, valve covers back on, everythin g back in place. I go to start the car knock is gone but car still has a miss like its only running on 5 cylinders. Decided to go ahead and replace all the plugs and here's what I found.. Got a nasty split right down the middle :\ AP 606... For those wondering how these cars take to Platinum plugs.. here's a good axample..Hopefully it helps others down the road..

Wondering if this was the culprit and yes it is a platinum plug which I put on last year on its tuneup not knowing these plugs were not better than OE plugs.. Anyways picked up some AC Delco 41-101s and will be putting them on tonight as soon as I get home.. Wish me luck hopefully I'll be done with this and I can get my lights on ..

if you use a socket with out the rubber/foam insert, chances are you broke it yourself when installing it.

and yes, a cracked plug will cause a misfire.

Ok fellas got all the plugs done but my check engine light is staying lit.. then when I go to drive it it cruises just fine til I give it the go pedal then my SES light will go to flashing. I know this means misfire which could damage CAT so ima take it in Monday to Autozone and get it scanned.. I will say I didnt replace wires as the ones on it are about 2 years old but Ill get it scanned then go from there.. Thinking may have screwed my cat cause I did get a hint of rotten egg smell while i had it running in my shop after putting it all together.. smell was only for an instant then gone.. haven't smelled it since. Gonna check my coil packs as well. Any other ideas are appreciated.. Oh and already checked all my plugs and made sure all were going to right wire and I did use new AC Delco iridiums.. I know you guys are probly tired of hearing it but thanks for the help. I've learned alot here from everyone..

In your pics you were pointing to what I believe is the intake valve on cyl #3 when you found the loose rocker, I wonder if something got messed up with the rocker being loose on that cylinder that would cause the misfire? The only other thing that comes to mind is a bad ICM (the part that all 3 coils are bolted to).

swap injectors around, if the misfire follows the injector, thats the problem.

Yup thats correct...Can you get your hands on leak down test ? That will tell you if you've got valve issue or not. I would also do compression test on that cyl

Ok guys got home and got to work o the car. Retorqued the rocker to be certain and rechecked pushrods and valves on cylinder. Going to continue tomorrow by switching the injector on #3 to the one on #1 to see if thats not it. Was gonna ask am i gonna have to remove the whole rail or can i jusr loosen the front side to takeout the injectors?

pop the whole rail, its 4 nuts on the 4 corners, then lift the rail and injectors out as one.
