Ahhh well I'm pretty sure a couple people on here are selling mps 3.8s
|
well i guess if it comes to that ill get one and try it. but im not buying one right now. ill do all the checking and testing i can for free with the tools i have before ill run out and buy a new pulley.
Throw those 1.9's on it you have and i'll bet it helps out a ton. I had to put 1.9's on mine to get it to safely run a 3.4.
I dont have the $$ for springs and retainers.
Just throw them on for now then put springs on later. You'll get some valve float up top most likely but it'll kill some kr. I'm on stock springs on my modded 1.9's because i'm a cheap ass lol
Haha no ****?! I thought it would cause coil bind on the stock springs.
It'll cause valve float and possibly a broken valve spring but i haven't had any problem yet. I should get diff springs but that's extra money i can spend on pointless mods instead of ones that could save my motor lol. I went from 4* of KR without the 1.9's to 0* with them on the stock tune.
Hmm. Maybe ill keep them and throw em on and just be easy on it for a few weeks till i can get the springs
Used 3.8" MPS' are dirt cheap?
I mean, if you ask a question...and don't try what were suggesting to help you out...then what's the point of asking?
I'm just curious.
And to add, just because someone does it doesn't mean its right.
I'd never run higher than 1.8:1 Ratio rockers without upgrading springs.
Ever.
You dont make any power up there though.
Just putting more stress on your engine.
Did I say I wasnt going to follow any advice given? No. I simply said I am going to check and test as many possibile causes of the KR as I can for FREE, before I run out and start buying parts, throwing them at my car and seeing what sticks. Im not a "throw part after part on it till it fixes the problem" kind of guy. Do i appreciate the advice? Yes I do.
I'm just looking at it from the aspect of, haven't you already tried tuning it and it won't lower KR levels?
If not, then more power to you to get it figured out via a tune.
I'll be waiting to see what happens, though.
