So I just picked up a ZZP SSIC today. Along with the mods in my signature I was thinking of getting a 3.1 pulley maybe.

Here's a scan I took the other day running rich. What you all think?

No knock, that's good. Do you have injectors?

Get a wideband, You have no Idea if your rich or lean. Also your spark timing Sucks, I bet the car feels like it falls on its face. It starts out good, but then your dropping it ...I assume to stop KR. If your going to continue to tune off the narrowband then looking at those numbers Your lean(need to be in the 915ish range Wot). But they really can be way off.

How should the spark numbers look like? I do drop timing to prevent knock. I first tried adding fuel to see if it went away, but it never did, no matter how much fuel I added. The O2s won't go up either (narrowband of course). So I had to start dropping timing at the end of the curve.

Would it be better if the timing was all around the same numbers even if it was in the 16s?

By the way, it really doesn't feel like it drops when I hit the lower numbers, it actually feels quite steady right now.

Oh and I don't have injectors yet either. I think the limit will be the injectors here.

your car is running to rich, your almost hitting 20 ipw's. Use the same pulley, and make your timing tables better with leaner o2's

His 02's are in the 870-860-even 850 range. Thats lean, basing off those numbers. But yeah If you're increasing Maff numbers but not seing it in 02's then your out of injector. My timing stays 20 the entire way through Except i drop it to 17 at the shift. If you got those 02's in the 910-920 range id bet you could get your timing back, BUT i hate to keep saying it. Invest the 175 bucks and get a WB, Your car will thank you. Heck I dont even scan 02's anymore on my car. Thats how worthless they are

IPW was in the 16's and high 11 AFRs when I started adding fuel, but the O2 readings are really not reliable at all here.

As you can see in the scan I'm up to 19 IPW and 10-9 AFRs but the O2s still read 800's they are never the same.

Not even running this rich I can add more timing. I've set the AFR back to 11.2 since it wasn't doing any good.

Given that I was doing 16 IPW with a 3.25 pulley at 11's AFR, my rationale was that I would probably be able to get away with a 3.1 pulley and around 18 IPW, but I'm not really sure how much more will the IPW increase with each pulley size drop.

01gpgt01, yeah you keep mentioning the wideband lol. I'm just trying to find out how to get this tuned with what I've got for now.

Here's one of the first runs I did that day, before I worked on the timing. See how the AFR starts at mid 11s, IPWs are in the 16's and the O2's are higher at over 900... lol doesn't make sense at all.

Yeah it looks like I'll have to guess. I'll order the 3.1 for now, and just switch back to the 3.25 if it doesn't work.

    thanks guys.

u really cant go by 02 numbers, there so inaccurate the smallest thing can throw it off, even if u have an exhaust leak.

Its more of a guessing game

Why are you so against a wideband? I dont get people when they refuse to use correct things to tune? I mean why guess and take a chance? Doesnt make sense to me. But yeah. good luck. Ive been down this road, your wasting your time. Theres a reason you dropped pulleys and ran the same times or worse at the track....LOL

I mean it's not that I don't want to. I've spent enough already. As I said before, I'm trying to figure out the best way to get this tune with what I've got. Me as probably most of us can't buy everything in one shot. At least I do it step by step, yes i need injectors and yes a wideband is better and ported heads and blower are better too also a built transmission, but that don't mean I'll get everything in place at the same time.

I didn't drop pulley sizes and ran worst by the way. I only tuned the car and ran the same ET.

Well, TBH, that Wideband is going to save you time, money, and give you peace of mind. IMO it's the first mod we all should have, along with a Scangauge to monitor knock and a tuner. Wasn't it proven a well-tuned car is faster than a modded car without a good tune?
