2005 GTP, today I noticed trouble code P0243

    P0243: turbo/sup wastegate solenoid A malfunction.

cleared code and it has not returned today. No problems felt driving. Should I be worried, anything I can do for free first like clean something?
    Thanks.

CEL came back, same code. All internet searches talk about wiring shorts and how to test it, but not even the haynes manual even tells you what or where the part even is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I just need a part name, a location, something.

Seriously? Nobody has any input? Probably because most people on this forum are ricers that don't know much other than how to put rims and bling bling on their car. Go on, hate me. Punks.

eh, i'm just pissed cuz when people wanna just brag or ask about performance stuff then they get 100replies within a day or so, but you ask a general tech question and you can hear crickets chirp.

sounds like the boost bypass valve... open the hood with it running take off the cover if you have it on look at the soloide on the front drivers side of the supercharger with the lever coming out of it going in the side of the supercharger and snap the throttle and see if it moves... make sure the electrical connections look good and tight and check the vaccume line to make sure its connected and in good shape thats my best guess...

No need to be an asshat on here, thats no way to make friends and have people help you with your car.

Boost bypass valve would be my guess

hey warrior i just saw the posts that you made... the key word in your post was "peformance" this forum thrives on people modding these cars. and from my quick glanceing around there is more people on here that are just the modders not the mechanics... so to jump the gun on needing to wait for some one that is a mechanic that knows how to dianose problems with understanding what codes mean is a little childish... there are alot of people like you that are on here with "help me" questions and fewer of us that can give advice on what to look for.. and understand that most of us do have jobs and lives that are out side of this forum. remember you get what you pay for and last i checked registering was free you wheren't paying someone to look at your car to fix it...so you cant complain about time to get a responce... oviously if you searched and cameback with a limited resulst yourself it isnt a common problem with our cars so everyone doesnt just come back with a immeadate responce because every one has already asked it...

Well since I am a dumb ass and know nothing I will just talk to my self. The code has to do with the boost bypass valve (waste gate), There is either a short in the wiring or a problem with the solenoid its self. I would find a wiring diagram for my car. ALLDATAdiy.com :: Leading Source of Diagnostic and Repair Information has great info on trouble codes and wiring. Well worth the $25. Then I would check the wires as it describes and if they check out I would replace the bbv with a good used one or a new one.
