Yeah our shop runs around 160-70 too. The school was not setup for any high pressure. Before the regulator ****ed up it would be around 110. That would be one hell of a bang if the tank blew. I never trusted that thing again. I have no idea about your car tho fish. Try checking the gauge maybe?

we were talking and think it could possibly be a clogged resonator. he is running catless, so its not that.

Run it at the track, see what happens. If you really are making that much boost, you should have some pretty phenomenal track times.

Sounds like you're boost stacking in the LIM. What exhaust mods do you have done?

And BIO, 3.8's have MAF's. That is why you can boost past the stock MAP (14.7) and not have any issues, the MAF is reading the air coming in. Once you max out your MAF you need an AFC or a bigger MAF.

thats a joke, right? i know exactly how the car can handle it, but 18 pounds of boost is extreme for ANY m90 setup. i know how to max out the MAF too, ive done it before.

Okay, my stay may not be long or pretty you're right. Maybe you could give him some more tips like the BBV creating more boost? I don't know.

Care to explain why the boost stacking is not a good suggestion? Or you all could just keep saying " i have no idea how it can boost that high "

If you know how the car could handle it then why was your first post....

Get that thing on a track/dyno and see what it does!

A clogged res could be possible, but what would clog it?

Were the heads clean in and out when you put them on?

honestly, boost stacking is a stupid term and shouldnt be used. the car is making too much boost (for sure) for its mods and there is a restriction somewhere in the system because otherwise he would be rocking about 10 psi like a 3.5 would normally do. i said that in my post because i was trying to think and just putting stuff down so i could rule it out. the MAP is only 2 bar, so it maxes out at 14.7 psi, but the car can still react to higher boost levels so long as it is tuned accordingly. however, no one should have to do that since no one should ever have to see boost levels that high regardless of mod level.

boost is a measure of restriction, and there is a restriction somewhere in his setup that is causing the high boost.

i wish you all would stop telling him to take it to the track as is. there is clearly something wrong and running the car hard in this condition (regardless of it having 0 KR or not) is probably not the best idea. as far as i know the only thing that could possibly be a restriction is the resonator or the mufflers. there is also a potential that if something hit the underside of the car that the exhaust is kinked.

You're right, maybe we got off on the wrong foot. I am sorry.

You shouldn't see past 14-15 psi on an M90 setup if done properly, you're right. The m90 isn't efficient at higher levels and creates a lot of heat.

Anyways, keep going on with your suggestions, you will fix it eventually.
