I was driving her 08 base GP today and forgot how piss slow the thing is. Mash the throttle on the highway and it barely pulls. I thought I'd help the car a grow a pair without her knowing. My GTO is at the shop getting A/C work finished so this is the perfect time to be sneaky. I'm dropping her off at work tomorrow, coming home, and adding the goodies.

The nice thing about owning a couple GP's over the years is that you acquire parts that sometimes you don't end up using on builds. The parts are collecting dust so I might as well put them to use.

    Parts being installed

    HVIII
    Plog
    HAI

Most of her driving is on the highway so hopefully those parts will assist in making any spirited driving a bit more fun. I'll update with pics of the install later.

I bet they will. The Little Regal That Could, pulls pretty good for a slow car and it has those mods minus the HV. Actually that kid in the Mazda (tinted tails, black/plasti wheels and blacked emblems) last night wishes he hadn't tried the Regal. =0)

I'm thinking about making the wife's Bonneville a little quicker without her knowing

Keep in mind..they are still slow once you make them faster.

Only when you have to explain why she needs to put 93 in it.

Lol not gonna happen. My GP will get a cam before hers would. I dropped her off at work a bit ago and now back at the house waiting for the car to cool off:

Forgot about how the MAF sits in the newer GP's. Gotta do some parts digging to come up with a solution. I'm gonna start with the HVIII. The budget for this mini build is $0.

I'll just have to run headers and a cam so she didn't have to put "expensive" gas in it. Lol

Hmmm everything is back together but it's not wanting to stay running. Kinda like I have a vac leak. I'll have to double check everything again. Do the injectors not fully seat with the HVIII? Seems like there is a little gap between the LIM and injectors. The top of the fuel rail is flush against the top of the manifold, but the injectors don't look fully seated.

    Did you trim the gasket?

I know I had to do that to get my HV3 to work in my L26 UIM.

Then, I was bored because it was still slow, lol.

So I sold it to Subaru Mike.

Did you by chance tweak the rail? They are pretty easy to bend...I'd check those first.

The gasket was already trimmed that I got with the HVIII. I'll have to play around with the fuel rails. I'm also wondering if I didn't add enough gasket sealer. Will try again after while.

    Gasket sealer....

    I never used that business.

I even used the old gasket from the L36 too.

    Hmmm...

Was is easy to see what needs to be trimmed off? I'm doing a LIM gasket job soon so it makes sense to fit the HV3 at the same time. I though just the HV3 had to be trimmed when using an L36 in an L26 UIM.

I'm not sure if I could get by with a cheap dremel from Harbor Freight.
