Over the next 2-3 weeks I am planning to pull the L36 out of my 2001 bonneville SE and drop in a top swapped l26. so far I have the l26 on an engine stand and have already installed l67 heads and l32 intake. I have a gen v m90 with l67 tb adapter and l67 tb I am planning to put on once the engine is installed in the car. I will also be installing speeddaddy headers and making my own fenderwell intake at the same time. I had a few questions I am having trouble answering on my own.
1. I was planning to install valve seals when I had the heads off and forgot. Is it possible to install them with the heads on the engine and if so does anyone have a link to a writeup?
2. I'd like to have my pcv function as close to stock as possible (perferably without a breather) I had a link to how to do this but can't find it. Could someone lay that out for me or link me to a a writeup.
3 I'd also like my egr to function as close to stock as possible. Whats the best way to do this? Will I need any of the egr blockoff plates from zzp to make the top swap work?
4. I wont be buying a tuner until probably after tax time next year. For now I have a zzp top swap pcm. It is tuned for my l36 map sensor. From reading on forums it looks like some people hook it to up to the outlet below the supercharger snout and others on the l67 tb. What is the best way to do it?
Any tips to make a engine swap easier are welcome. So far I have just followed the steps to removing the engine in my chilton guide and will probably disconnect the transmission and pull the engine tomorrow or the next day depending on weather.
Only major mistake I've made so far is twisting off a piece of the starter when trying to disconnect the red and green wires from it. Gonna call Ed Morad parts on monday and see if I can get a used one.
