Hey guys gonna be doing a top swap soon on my gp gt 2000 with a gp gtp 1997 parts and wanted to know wat about the pcm? Im gonna be putting the digital dash gauge from the gtp in my gt included heated seats and all. Can i just use the pcm from the gtp and put it in my gt without getting it tunned for top swap . Im new at the top swap an just started to read up about it. Ive read the whole 10 pages of the top swap topic in the forum. I just need additional info. Thanks and wat about the wireing harness too. Does that gtp harness need to go into the gt in order to have the digital dash gauge? Help a guy out here thanks guys

You won't be able to use the GTP PCM....your gear ratio is different in the transmission and that one will be set to the GTP ones and it won't drive right....You will need a total custom tune because of the additional compression and such. I wouldn't recommend trying to tackle the topswap tune yourself if you have no tuning experience. There is probably someone in your area who can help you out with that.

Im putting a complete engine and tranny from a 97 gtp into a 2000 gt. I wanted to know if i have to change anywireing harneses or if there the same. Is there a two peice to the harness. Ill be putting the gtp pcm in aswell. My only concern is the wireing harness and the two stage fuel pump . Do i need a gtp fuel pump or is the gt good enough for the supercharged engine. Let me know if theres anything else i need to change in order for everything to work well thanks

i dont think the PCM will work.

97 PCM's had a different pinout than the newer ones.

Why not just change the trans fluid and filter in the gtp and drive it?
