HAHA isn't that the truth. Count it that my wife was the one that broke a valve spring and punched a valve through my exhaust manifold... Granted it could have happened at anytime, but she still did it.

OP- you could always put a hitch on and tow a boat around for a while.... purposeful yet destructive.... and as far as the whole drive to reverse thing, I'm pretty sure the pcm with disengage the tranny and turn off the engine.

At highway speeds most newer cars won't go into reverse it just kills the engine and doesn't engage

Who here thinks the trans won't engage if you switch it from drive to reverse? It's fluid moved via a manual valve. This is why your shifter has a lockout that requires you to press the button.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I'm surprised no one suggested popping the cooler lines off and just looping them. Then go for a spirited drive until you smell tranny fluid boiling out the vent.

maybe wait for the new trans before you post a vid of its destruction, you never know whos on here watching, like dealers who work the chat boards, thats who.

surprised he hasn't chimed in for this one lol

Just keep neutral dropping it until it blows up. Shouldn't take long at all. Maybe 20 times max. Don't do this in town though. Make sure you're out where no one is around.

It's amazing how no one has considered that all of this transmission destruction may prove fatal to the engine as well. Yea, you'll destroy the tranny and have it warrentied then shortly after the engine blows, out of warranty of course.

I know the 5.3 is a tough engine but....

I was actually thinking the same thing. Also, I wouldn't do anything like adding a turbo or looping the cooler lines etc, because if there is evidence that you screwed with anything mechanically, the dealer might shaft you on the warranty.

    Just my 2¢.

ive thrown both my 97 and 03 pick up trucks into reverse while driving forward, in a act to stop faster, shift and floor it, ( oh and only in snow, in 4 wheel drive not dry pavement) it does work, idk wtf was up with the myth busters car there. throwing it into park usually results in a a lot of loud clicking that hardly slows you down, but sounds gaw awful.
