Thread: LOCK Want/Need ASAP anyone with an old or bad passenger side CV axle

I need this snap ring or retaining ring. What ever its called
It is the ring on the drivers side of the car that holds the CV shaft in place.
Now for explanation of how said ring shattered. The CV shaft I did have on was the wrong type...to short but I took advanced autos word that it was the correct one. Well it wasn't and the vibration has caused the ring to bread and getting the old CV shaft off was a bit*h.

Heres the difference the top one is advanced autos shaft and bottom is the correct one that's an exact match to my original OEM one.

I'm not sure man, but if you want to try it... I can get it for $8.05 on Amazon and use first day shipping for $3.99 and it will be there Tuesday.

My gut instinct is that no, that is not right.

Oh and it seems like they have you the wrong side, as they are not equal lengths from side to side. Or whoever packaged it at the warehouse put the wrong number on the box.

are you saying you dont think that is the right retainer? and i know that that cv shaft that advanced sole me is for a gt not gxp...i compared them and researched them. the cv shaft i got from oreillys i know is correct.

but that retainer that i listed looks correct...you think it is

I pm'd you. I'll take u on that offer if u can have amazon ship it to me. Cheaper than the Tuesday shipping quote they gave me

Just so people can see this is the shaft that the drivers side CV axle goes onto.

The end with longer splines is what goes into the actual CV shaft and other end goes all the way into the tranny

Question. Anyone have a factory passenger side cv axle laying around...that's bad or that dont need. That ring is on there as well
