I'm having a problem with my trunk not opening. When you hit the button on the key fob, or try to hit the button in the car, all you can hear is a click from the inside of the car like it is sending a signal to open the trunk, but it's not opening. Anyone have this problem? Oh it's a 2004 Comp G...

I had this problem and found a broken wire in my harness by chance one day that was the culprit

Are you talking about the wires right under the trunk lid?

Nope mine was the wire going through the firewall to the fuse box. It was just by chance that I had found it. Your best bet is to find out which wire is shorted by test with a multimeter or even just a test light.

Check the fuse. Mine did this when the fuse blew.

When the fuse blows you won't have back up lights either

The fuse is good and my reverse lights work. I'm going to do some more looking around this weekend when I have spare time...

looks like you need to take the back seat out and crawl in the trunk to jimmy the lock and open it up and check all the wires. 2 bolts at the lock latch comes off and the trunk opens up. 10 mm i think.

    it used to work, right?

edit: the lock actuator could have gone bad too. the thing that pops the trunk.
