There's a few things I want to fix up on my car before summer comes around. The typical gas cap rust is one of them. On my car the gas cap actually hangs down, its an eyesore. Any idea how I would go about fixing this?

I'm assuming he means the gas door. Not gas cap.

There is a door assembly... GM# 10322732 Includes 11, 12, 14, 15 in the Illustration. If the hinge is whats broken you would need to replace it. GY possibly... I looked at RockAuto but had no luck.

My gas cap was like that when i got my car. the hinge is probably rusted through. i just replaced it with a piece of metal wire about the same size as the hinge.

The hinge most likely needs to be replaced. What are you going to use to fix the rust thoe, just go at it with some dupli colour from CT? I would like to see how that turns out because I have to do that on my gas door.

Thats the plan, yes. I think the hinge would need to be replaced, im tempted to take the cheap way out and get some Velcro and do it that way.

I hate it lol, everytime I come out to my car its hanging down, I always put it back up even though it probably just falls back down as soon as I start driving lol.
