You'll never learn if you don't give it a shot, if you F*** it up, you're out $10 big deal...
The purple peel is b/c it was sh***y tint, not b/c they did it wrong
The best tint I have found for diy is 5% and the tint at the autoparts places isn't bad quality, Ive had it on my wife's Astro for almost 10 years now...

My couch pulls out, but, I don't...

i did my own gp and a a few buddys with gila tint from advanced auto and it was good quality... i have had it on for almost 2 years and not a bubble... the cheapo tint sucks and the more expensive tint is better. but practice def makes prefect and patience.

around where i am i got all 4 and the rear done w 35% for 150. a few tiny bubbles but i might go back cuz he said he guaranteed against bubbling. the price was right though. wish i did a darker tint on the back windows though.

Tiny bubbles usually occur right after the tint gets put on. It usually takes a day or two for them to go away. Put your car out in the sun and it will dry faster.

i had those and they did dry out. now it seems ive got bubbles the same size with something that looks like a small spec of dirt or dust in between the tint and glass. i might post a picture if i get ambitious. what could cause this? they weren't there a week or two ago.

I'm guessing the window didn't get cleaned good enough or you might have a little tear in your tint that lets the dust and dirt in. It probably didn't show a week or two ago because that's when you got it done and it was still drying.

i wanted to get gp tinted but around here its outrages. There was an extra 80 dollars for the front two windows because i wanted it darker than the legal limit. so if you live in CR iowa let me know of some good tinting places.

everything is darker than the legal limit for the most part. if its not darker than the legal limit then its not even worth buying.

Everything Ive found here in Mi was $220 for 4 door. And a little hint I got was to tint your front windows less than your backs. I never thought about it but it would make the appearence that they arnt tinted as the back will still be darker. (since atleast in MI your only allowed to have a two inch banner at the top of the front windows)

I tinted windows on my GM truck, wasnt too hard to do, my back window was flat though so its not really the same thing on a Grand Prix. This spring I'm going to do the sides myself and pay for the back window, curved = harder to do.

mine took an hour or two. i watched the dude do it for like 20 minutes just to see the process. then i walked and went shopping, got some frozen yogurt, came back and he was spraying off my car as it sat in the sun. sooo yup.

I think it was about a 2 hour job for all 7 windows on my Regal GS. I left it over night though so the car would be warm when they did the work.

Some places can do it in less than 45 or so but sometimes they ask to leave the car there all day so it bakes good in the sun and if there are any imperfections they can catch it and fix it before the customer does..

I think mine took about 3 hours or so cause it was just one guy doing it and he also like stated above wanted the car to stay there for awhile. He requested the entire day but I had to go to work.
