I'm going to go to them pretty soon to ask. I asked this because any dealerships prices are always higher than pretty much anywhere else. So if anyone knows any other place to get this kit it would be helpful, atleast then I have some way to compare their prices instead of just blinding accepting whatever price they throw out.
Well its not that expensive iirc. There's a tech article in here somewhere so you can get the part number and check it out on gmpartsdirect to see what it'll cost.
Finally found it on another thread. They said part #10388091, this is what GMpartsdirect.com came up with.
GM PART # 10388091
CATEGORY: All
PACK QTY: 1
CORE CHARGE: $0.00
GM LIST: $16.00
OUR PRICE: $9.98
DESCRIPTION: BRACKET K
I e-mailed them to double check that this bracket is the correct one for my car. Thanks
Alright, so I ordered one of the kits and it seems it is only for one headlight. Meaning I should have ordered 2 of the kits. The Black Bracket is marked with an "L" I assume this means it's the left bracket. So there would be a right bracket for the right side light but it's the same part number? or are the brackets the same and the "L" stands for something else.
With all the parts that came with it, it seems it is just missing another silver & black bracket.

From what I've been able to tell from online searches and looking at the instructions and such. I have everything needed for the driver side headlight, but i'm missing the 2 brackets for the passenger side headlight.
Guess I'll have to call them back and ask why they only sent me part of the kit....![]()
Well called the place I ordered it from and they gave me half of my money back. I"m gonna install the parts I have to see how well they work before I bother ordering another kit that should have the parts for both sides.
I ordered another kit from a different dealership. They had to do a custom order from michigan for it. But I got it all installed and it worked very well. Definitely helped with the headlight bounching problem, I don't think i've noticed them bouncing at all now, not even a little bit. Didn't seem that I needed to adjust the lights at all, as it didn't mess up the aim from what I could tell.
How would black weatherstripping fix the bouncing problem? all it does is maybe minimize it, but that doesn't really fix it
Yeah, you got a 2006 right? They already had that setup for those years. It was the 2004 and maybe the 2005 that had to get the kit. If you bought the car new they were covered underwarranty. But I bought mine used so had to buy and install the kit myself. I would check the threads on the top bolt and see if it has been stripped. That may cause the bouncing
I have an 02 Grand Prix and I am having this same problem. I have been doing research and found a lot of people talking about this bounce kit. So I called my local dealer today and they acted like I was crazy. They said they have never heard of such a thing. The bouncing is driving me coo coo!
I have heard of others saying to use weather stripping too. What kind and how are you keeping it in place?
