Anyone know if the stock tpms will work with these wheels? Trying to find out before I go for tires so I can buy the sensors ahead of time.

So, just when I thought I had everything figured out, I test mounted the wheels before I made an appointment for tire mounting. It looks like the hub bore is too small. I only had a tape measure on hand but it looks like the evo 5's are about 2.75" and the stock wheels are closer to 3. I read one thread where it said 73mm is the stock bore, which is right about 2.8".

So am I like totally finished now or can I fix this, like have it bored out to 73mm?

This really sucks, lol, one hurdle after another. Im so anxious to get these on, I got 4 new kumho ectsa 4x's out in the garage waiting to go on them already... but I guess Im learning the hard way.

I did try to put them on, they wouldnt even go far enough on to thread the lugs more than 1 turn.

I took the center cap off to see what's happening better and yeah, the hole in the middle of the wheel isnt big enough to go over the hub lip on the car.
But just a few minutes ago, I had time to relax from earlier and I looked at it more clearly... I noticed part of it doesnt seem to be part of the wheel, and there's writing on it.

Can these be removed? I can spin them pretty freely in the groove there, but I cant pull them out at all... I tried a prybar a little but I didnt want to go too hard incase it would ruin the wheel.

Edit: K so with some deeper reading I've figured out that I think that's a hubcentric ring, and the writing on it means diameter 79.5 to diameter 66.5 (I remember that slashed circle symbol as a symbol for diameter in my physics and geometry classes, lol). So, before I go and keep trying to crowbar it out and break something, what is the proper way to remove these? Then I guess I'll need to find a new set to get the proper fitment for myself.

If they are metal they are corroded on. If they are plastic they are just a tight fit. Either way: try harder.

Well I can spin them pretty effortlessly in whatever channel they're in, like they rotate clockwise and counter clockwise with almost no resistance.

So I've been pounding on it with a pry bar and they're not even moving. I put more PB on it so Im gunna give it like an hour and go beat on it some more

Got the first one out, I cannot believe what a beating that thing took... since the center cap was out I used a long handle screw driver and a hammer to smash it out from behind. After about 5 minutes of hitting it, it started to budge, then 4 or 5 more solid hits and it came flying out... it was metal btw.

So I guess I'll repeat this process 3 more times and then contact maybe tire rack tomorrow and see if they can supply me with the right rings so I wont have any wobble.

    Always a learning experience

put them on before you buy rings. the likelihood is that you won't need them.

Those must have been rusted to the rims. lol
    Crazy

They are for the aluminum ones, the plastic ones would not be that hard to get out.

Those have must have been on a nissan or honda or something with that small of a bore. With the OD saying 79.5". You will probably need some new hub rings.

Sittin here getting the tires mounted... One of em is slightly bent on the inside so far, outside isn't noticable lol. One thing after another, should've just bought the kv5s from tire rack and payed a little more. Would've had the hub rings included, no dirt or bent wheels. Oh well he said he's gunna balance it the best he can and I'll see how bad the vibration is.

Well yeah I'd imagine not, but whatever.

I think I might just cut my losses, sell these off for whatever price I can get, and buy a set of kv5's.

Atleast I learned about hub rings and detailing very neglected wheels, though...

On the bright side, the tires are great... Kumho Ectsa 4x... going over bumps is really gentle, they're quiet, and so far good grip in the rain.
