well, let me shed some light on your situation.

1" away from the fender is A LOT. hydroplaning also won't happen unless you get unlucky. those tires aren't too wide.

1" is how I'm sitting now with stock wheels.

With just a tad under 2* of camber.

    IIRC around 1.7-1.8*

I am 1.1" away in the front, and 1.5" away in the rear.

the wheel/tire combo I want to run would be 0.9 further out.

so 0.2" in the front, 0.6" in the rear.

ur gonna look like a 4x4 anyways with ur "my vogtlands didnt drop cuz i run bilsteins" mod.
id say get +35, even with the 255 tire you shouldnt be rubbing with ur current spring/shock setup.

Does anyone have a recommendation on what black rims will fit on a 2006 Grand Prix GXP?

I want all black preferably without a chrome lip or anything. Perhaps something in a 5 spoke design like the stock GXP rims?

    I'm looking to put some 18x9's on. (5x114) Here's a link;

    http://www.customwheelsexpress.com/american-racing-nova-vn701-701-machined-black-custom-rims-wheels-p-130.html?id=18

Would it be better to go with a 35 or 45 offset?

35 would look better, but 45 would have less chance of rubbing. however, both sets are pretty wide. why are you wanting to go so wide?

Wide because of increased handling and limited options on the ar wheels.

Are the stock wheels 6.5" wide? What would you recommend as far as width on 18" wheels?

Would I run into trouble with the fenders?

i would recommend an 8" wide wheel since you'll never need the traction of a 9" wide wheel since you cant even run tires big enough without fender work. however, fender work is most likely going to happen if you get 9" wide wheels.

Okay, and 8" shouldn't rub the fender?

Would a 17" by 8" with 0 offset work? I don't think these wheels i'm looking at are going to work.

no, zero offset is WAY too low. you need something in the +40mm area for offset.

Do you have any mods to improve the rest of the suspension?

Also if handling is a concern, you want the lightest wheel/tire combo.

No suspension mods atm. The ar nova wheels are pretty light, the 18"s are in the 25 lb. range.

if they're not under 20, they're not light.
