So what stock Bose do you have ??

I was told the bose speakers mixed with aftermarket make it sound crappy.

It isn't crappy just do understand quality isn't the same. You can change decks and it will literally sound like you have a small sub back there. Get bose speakers if you like change to a simple deck or keep stock. But imo I like stock best over aftermarket.

So what do you suggest ?
Keeping my front 5 1/4 and getting aftermarket 6x9's ?
Will the aftermarket speakers work with the bose amp ?
I am keeping my head unit...it's the factory one.

I would just buy all new, look up the watts rms of the stock amp and try to match up the new speakers watts rms and ohms and you wont have problems. Aftermarket will work your just gonna have to solder some wires to the existing. I used some cheap Pioneers and they sound fine. sucks you got scammed, I saw western Union in the post and was like oh no.

    Ok...thanks for your input...much appreciated.
    I pretty much got f***ed out of 95 bucks...glad it wasn't 295.
So you suggest all new ?
Someone else in another forum suggested new front speakers a cheap amp and 2 10" subwoofers....he said having rear speakers isn't real important.

It is completely up to you. Just in my opinion stock will sound better then aftermarket speakers. Either stay stock or go aftermarket you're choice. As I said if you don't plan to do a system stay with stock great sound quality and bass. If you do decide to add a sub go aftermarket since they don't bring out the bass and lower notes as good as the bose do. Again you're choice and what youre budget allows.

I have 4 gtps as you can see in my pic. Some have stock systems some have a aftermarket system. And no cheap stuff not high end either but mid range stuff. Polk audio for highs, old school rockford fosgate amps and hx2 subs

I suggest all new based on the fact stockers by now or sometime are got blow/start to foam rot and rattle. IMO rear speakers depend on the person, I like having them just for the extra volume. Amp and subs would depend on if you wanted more bass or not and at that point I would just get a new headunit. If i remeber correctly I think I spend about 500ish for new Headunit with mount and harnesses, new speakers, refurbished amp, 2 12s, true 4ga amp wire kit.

How do you figure stock will sound better than aftermarket? From my experience stock speakers are cheap mexico made garbage. Even some crappy pioneers I got from Amazon sounded 10x better than stock.

Lol...thanks for all your input guys...VERY MUCH appreciated.
If I do go aftermarket it would be a shame because I have whole set of Bose speakers and amp.

If you have them might as well use what works and replace what doesn't. Cheaper for the time being.

Most of the gm stuff is made In or was made in mexico. That has nothing to do with it though.
Do you have the bose system and amp or just the ac Delco system there is a difference in sound quality. I have 4 gps, one with bose and aftermarket head unit and sounds great like It has a small sub back there. Have a 40th with stock head unit and clarion speakers all around sounds worse. Highs are louder but the base sucks. Then I have my other 40th with the system listed above sounds great but the polks even with the amp the lows don't sound as great as the bose system. So I can literally compare them all side by side at the same time and can rally tell a difference and why I prefer stock.

I just don't want to spend 150 bucks on amp and subs and speakers when I already have a whole system of Bose sspeakers.
The other problem I have is I took out my old amp and ppugged in the one I just got and I had no sound.

Put the old one back in. As they say if it ain't broke don't fix it. If the amp was fine why change it. Go to a junk yard and pull some bose speakers out.

-The other problem is if I get am after market head unit - the steering wheel audio controls won't work.
