I thought I blew the motor at first but then I realized it was still idling fine so I got out and listened to it and its the transmission. I'm going to stay optimistic and hope that I didn't blow it and I just need tranny fluid

Have you done a flush recently?

Because if you have...it's prolly toast.

Do a pan drop and filter change, then add some Lucas StopSlip...see if that helps any...if at all it might save you a tow bill to the transmission shop or the parts store.

I can't figure out if he has a GetRag or an automatic.

Just started it... I busted the teeth on at least one gear. You can hear the teeth being knocked around...

Should I just pull the tranny from another grand prix or are there any other recommended transmissions from another comparable vehicle I should look for?

Had an idea. I knew I had no first second or reverse gear but I didn't think about the fact that third gear still had good teeth. So I can save on a tow/impound bill I feel better noww
