To all of you toolbags (I noticed 2 or 3 over the last few threads I've looked at) who feel the need to b*tch and moan like a butthurt slut everytime somebody posts a picture here of a car that is NOT a Grand Prix....

The world doesn't revolve around grand prix's, not even on a grand prix forum. The forum revolves around it's members, most of them have grand prixs obviously, some don't. So 1 out of every 50 pictures posted here is something other then a grand prix....untuck your sack and get over it b*tches.

Naw this didn't have anything to do with me, or me posting up pictures of my car. It was pictures of other members rides.

Cept that GT I ran in my grandma wagon and put to shame...he didn't Charlie Sheen.

But slowpoke, I totally agree with you..Being a member on 3 totally different car forums (DSM, Longroof/LS1, and GPF) most people are decent about other platforms and cars. But GPF seems to have more "OMG GRANDPRIX FOREVER" than the other forums I frequent.
They just need someone with a Cobra to race..might change their tone..

It's not just a GPF problem. It's the average L67 GP owner, period. Forget OTHER cars. They don't even want to see GPs that came before their body style, or aren't equipped with a supercharger from the factory, much less other makes and models. I've been active on w-body sites for almost 10 years now, and I noticed the attitude right away when I joined ClubL67 (as I call it) and it's local chapter. While everything about the car was broken down into categories for the '97 & up, the '88 - '96 had just one forum to cover everything about the car.

I still remember going to the ILGPC Casper's Electronics mod day meet years ago. The guy who ran the site (I think his name was John), and one other guy were cool. The rest? Someone asked me which car was mine, and another guy I had talked to earlier decides to answer for me by saying, "he has the OLD Grand Prix". On the ILGPC boards, I posted a w-body.com meet once, which at the time was mostly Gen I w-bodies, to which one of the female members responded "I can't make it, I'm shaving my ass that day". The last straw was when the owner of the site started a thread stating he needed some help with a '94 GP he bought, and one of the members responded with "we don't deal with pre '97s". That was it. I PMed my e-mail to John and offered to help him, told the rest of the site what I thought about their god complex over their GTPs, and never visited that site again.

I've also never been on a site for any platform or model of car where almost all the members not only have just one era of that platform/model, but worse yet, call the generation that came before it "pregen". This term "pregen", which originated on ClubGP years ago, makes absolutely no sense. That is why it's not in the vernacular of any true car enthusiast. It's either Gen I (in reference to the generation of w-body), or Gen 5 GP, NOT "pregen".

Besides the whole hatred towards anything prior to the Gen 6 GP, AND even "current gen" GTs, I noticed most of them really didn't know much about cars in general. The fact that most owners think the almighty L67, a supercharged 3.8L 6-cylinder which produces a whopping 240hp, was god's gift to the automotive world was only part of what gave that away. I was astonished to see most didn't have basic "car guy" knowledge. I remember when the guy that owned Casper's posted a pic of the lightening rods from a 442 asking what they were called, and no one could answer. They showed no interest for anything that wasn't a '97 & up GP with a supercharger (or they'd let a turboed GT slide). And even if you had an approved car, the guys on ILGPC talked as much (if not more) about where they were meeting up to get drunk as they did about GTPs.

So basically, what I gathered from forums back then was that most GP sites are basically a gathering of alcoholic domestic ricers that just all happen to own Grand Prix GTPs. It's the reason I held off buying a Gen II GP for a long time. I didn't want to be associated with that crowd. That being said, this is by far the most laid back of the GP specific sites I've ever been on, which is why it's the only one I frequent anymore, but apparently even here, the attitude is prevalent (I don't visit too often anymore, so I wasn't aware of the extent till I saw this thread).

That's why I love the local w-body.com meets I've been putting together for the last 5 years (in fact, I started them DUE to the attitude I found at the ILGPC meets/website). Different group of people who mostly started out having Gen I w-bodies, and have a different mentality when it comes to cars in general. All we do for our meets is get together to eat (restaurant in bad weather, cookouts in good weather), yet the meets last for hours. For example, at a typically Fuddrucker's meet, we park our cars together and wait for everyone to show up from noon till about 2, go inside to eat around 2:30 or 3, car talk ensues after eating till around 4 or 5, and then we go outside to "leave".....and end up talking some more till 6 or 7.

By contrast, the one and only time I made the mistake of advertising these meets on ClubGP, which ended up being a Gen II GP fest, everyone wanted to eat almost immediately. So we went in to eat at about 1 or 1:30 (before everyone got there), were done and out of there by 2:30, went across the side street to a big empty lot and took pics till 3 or so.......and then..... everyone went home. Now don't get me wrong, we had our 2nd best turnout at that meet, and I didn't have any specific problems with anyone per se, but it was just the overall vibe. There was not much to discuss besides mods to do to the L67/'97 & up GPs. No one really seemed to want to just talk cars in general. I decided it was best to just stick to our original group, so I went back to only advertising our meets on w-body.

I didn't, this didn't have anything to do with anything I posted. For instance the Ohio meet picture thread, and kyle99gtp's thread about his sti. Folks cryin about pictures of cars other then Grand Prixs, on a Grand Prix forum. For the most part I avoid putting pictures up of anything I drive, mostly because people like you gonna hate. I doesn't matter how real I try to be with you guys, you're gonna talk sh*t. I'm not mad about it, that's just how it is.

This wasn't about why dont you guys like this car or that car (in above cases both are scoobs), everybody has thier likes and dislikes. If you want to hate on other makes/models, more power to you. It's the complaining of someone actually posting something they own (other then a GP) in the first place that's dumb as hell. It's like, how dare you! Grand Prix's ONLY, nothing else allowed! Seriously? I must have missed that rule. Closed minded fools, should STFU.

This is all just my opinion though, and should be takin with a grain of salt. It's just a rant, take it for what's it's worth.......a bottle of piss.
