my vote tied it 12-12

I voted Trans Am, even though I am not a fan of the LT1 engine. Putting the distributor near the water pump... what a stupid idea. Truly stupid.
That body style of Trans Am is Fugly. I do however like the newer ones. So +1 For the grand prix. I would however take an LT1 Camaro though.

So many LT1 haters. Of course the LS1 responds to mods better, but it is newer. Technology keeps getting better. I loved my LT1, you just need to maintain them. Never had 1 problem with a optispark!. 6 speeds are fun, that was the best part. Anything can be made quick with enough money.

But that commercial claims the ram air turns air into fuel.
it must be amazing and never need filling up since it makes its own gas.
That commercial was MADE for the guy with the midlife crisis...
"You're ready to fly" WTH?
I still voted Trans Am. Even though the Trans Am had all that stupid plastic crap hanging off of it that made it look like something a power ranger might drive (please don't be offended if you own one), there was no Formula option...
^^^at least he spends his time with the GP people still
Rather have a GTP then a T/A unless it's a WS6.
I've driven and owned a couple of both and the LT1 Trans Am wins in my book hands down. I obviously like GP's alot but they are four door sedans at the end of the day that sound bad (IMO) and are FWD. The T/A looks badass, sounds badass and will run circles around a GTP mod for mod. Stock my LT1 WS6 ran 13.9's in the heat of the summer. I ported the stock heads, added a mild cam, full bolt-ons and a stall and it dropped down to 11.40-50's again in the heat of summer, pretty good bang for the buck. They run late 12's with full bolt-ons and tires which is easy to do. If you can afford an LS1 I would recommend that. My parents both have LSx powered vehicles and there is no doubt that that motor is superior.
I have both, i vote TA though. The opti spark issues are way over hyped, i have had the same opti in my TA for 5 years and changed the water pump right above it and it still works like a champ.
Agreed. I've had two different LT1's in the past six or seven years and I have never had an Opti issue. It's simple, keep water away from it and it will last forever. A leaking waterpump will leak out the weap hole right onto the Opti (bad design) and potentially take it out. So long you keep an eye on that waterpump and don't hose the engine bay near the Opti it will last over a 150,000 miles. People make the mistake of replacing their Opti's with aftermarket units which is the other reason they go, the geniune AC Delco units are the only ones that should be in those cars.
I agree, people go out and buy the cheapest replacement and are suprised when they fail quickly. That is one of the first things I learned about after I got mine. I never had to replace mine. There are prevenitive measures you can take to keep water from getting into it. Spent quite a bit of time on LS1tech.com. I vote LT1, I miss mine and will probably end up with another soon. My 6 speed LT1 ran high 12s with bolt-ons, tires, and gears.
