I just came back from the stupid exhaust shop where they said they could build me the 3" downpipe for about 60 dollars. I went to get the job done and now it turns out that they don't have a tube bender for 3"..........

The shorty 3" DP in ZZP costs 90 bucks but the shipping via ups to Mexico is 172 dollars!!!!!

Now I have to search all over town for a place where they can bend 3" tubes!

They said at the exhaust shop that places that make exhaust for big trucks may have one.....

    S H I T ........

Unless you find a shop with a mandrel bender you're gonna end up with a 3" dp that will be 2.5" in the bends. Something to think about.

Blue: I think the 7" would be so awesome, I mean, I can fit the cat and the resonator inside it and it would look like a big thick pipe on the outside! LoL.

My sister lives in Philadephia, but that's way up north. I haven't considered also that IF I find a 3" tube bender it would be thinner at the bends... I'll have to look up the translation for mandrel but I think I'll try Ebay too.

    Thanks!

What is the DP? Does it begin at the headers coupler or further back? Sorry, some of the terminology used here is confusing.

I was told of a truck exhaust place which has a mandrel bender, it's actually nearby a place I used to work at. I'll check it out next week and see how much they charge for that. I don't expect it to be anywhere near or above 100 dollars, work and materials are cheaper here.

If that doesn't work, I'll move on with the smuggling plan haha.

mmschoch, the DP runs from where the rear manifold joins the front manifold crossover pipe down to the CAT. The stock DP appears to be 2.5" like the rest of the exhaust, but it actually has a double wall which makes it thinner than the rest of the exhaust so we want to replace this. Yet I'm not really sure why I should use a 3" tube for the GTP here since the rest of the exhaust is 2.5", but I don't really understand that much about flow and such things.

As I've been told before... by BillBoost i think... The Exhaust flow is only as good as the most constrictive part of it... meaning you can run 5" exhaust all the way back with no cat and still not flow very well if the muffler is constrictive. Id look into matching 3" to the rest from the U-bend back as your next mod

horrible, horrible idea. the stock catback is plenty good for 300+ fwhp.
