sounds like the MAF which was my problem AGAIN
hey guys, newbie here, I am trying to fix my mother in law's car. 01 GTP that is doing the same thing. Replaced IAC and MAF last night after getting codes for them. Drove it home to replace wheel bearings tonite, but it stalled out coming up to intersection. Started right back up, but stalled again. Drove two footed for a minute and then it was fine.
I did notice the tach was erratic, moving around when driving with steady throttle pressure. Got home and read codes again, and MAF came up same as before. BTW, the code is MAF reading out of range. I put a brand new MAF in, but it was a reman.
Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can get her back into her car
ALso, while driving, the scanner showed BOOST SOL % 99. Im not a mechanical genius, but could this have something to do with it? this was at 25% throttle and didnt move from 99% even when flooring it.
Thanx again
as far as the MAF goes u can unplug it and turn the car on and in about 5 seconds it will rev up and stay at about 1000 rpms, the PCM is designed to do this so u can safely drive ur car in case it fails.
as far as stalling problem the CPS can be the culprit too but i f the MAF codes come up then i tmust be that
You said that your problem was the maf sensor. correct? When it stalled, did it seem to do it in hot weather only? I am having the same issue and cannot decide if i should put the money into the cps or the maf sensor. dont have enough for both.
