Thread: Order to tune tables in?

Hey guys. Is there a specific order in which to tune the different tables? I'm new to tuning, and I'm not sure if certain ones should be configured before other ones (fuel tuning, MAF tuning etc.). I'm just trying to gather as much information as possible. Thanks guys.

car reads from the maf all the time making the VE useless right?

Awesome.

So in otherwords its nice for it to be close to right so you can drive without a MAF in case of failure but having it spot on is a waste of time?

Okay, thank you. I also have a question regarding the instructions to get a good scan:

It says:

The secret to getting a good scan is a very slow progression from low MAP kPa values up to 110 MAP kPa or so.

Since I have an L36 MAP, will it read properly?

Nope.

I'd suggest getting an L67 MAP.

$5 at a local wrecker with the connector.

Hmmm. So if I changed to a L67 MAP, L67 throttle body and L67 MAF, would it be really difficult to change the tune? Like I said, I am just starting to try learn all this. It is so new to me. Lol.

Does the SSM90 kit not come with L67 MAP sensor? either way, when you change map sensors, you need to use the L67 MAP table in the PCM. The MAF table is also going to need to be calibrated to a GTP file. That'll be a start, then you go from there.

No it doesn't come with an L67 MAP or an L67 MAF. Are there pre-made tables I can use for the L67 MAF and MAP sensors when I do decide to change them.

Wouldn't he be able to use the L32 MAP and not have to rewire the connector? That is what I am doing at least.

You can use the MAP table from an L67 bin seeing as they are never changed.

Also use the L67 MAF table then begin to tune from there.

The GTP and GT mafs are exactly the same. The tables themselves are very different however. If your running a l36 Throttle body theres no need to make any changes to the table other then normal skewing. if your on a GTP Throttle body you need to get a GTP maf table and go from there. Hope this makes sense.

Oh okay. I guess what I'm asking is if anyone could provide me with a L67 MAF/MAP table when I finally decide to try tuning. Or would it even be worth changing the MAF table, since it's already tuned for the L36 one.
